Scam! Going to the city on Elder Abuse on this! Please read entire review. My mother in law recently used A-Petes and after paying $250 for a rodding, she was then told it would be an additional $750 to rod out her entire (6 inch pipe) sewer line. They told my mother that they only use a two inch cutter, and her line was now open, and that was the service they provide for $250. Now I have had service at my own home, and for $300 the companies I have used made sure the entire line was clear of debris. Now when I called to ask questions, I was told that this is normal operating procedure for this company. When I spoke to my regular plumber, he laughed and said "we clean the whole pipe". My mother in law had a coupon for a free "camera inspection", yet the lady on the phone kept telling me that the plumber didn't charge us for the $250 camera inspection. Really, I knew that because of the coupon. I have called 3 times to ask for a detailed bill and to be sent to me for tax purposes, and I have not yet received a call back. The check my wife wrote for the services done at my mother in law's home was not cashed by A-Pete's, the Plumber who did the work out his own name on the check. We have already contacted the city and state regarding this matter. Hopefully A-Pete's will learn from taking advantage of 82 year old Chicago residents.

I have used A-Pete's numerous times, and depended on them to do my flood control rodding (to remove tree roots). To make a long story short, the last time they came out, they forgot to plug the ejector pump back in, causing an issue a few months later where waste water was not flowing to the city sewer properly. Now if the gates were lubricated properly by them, this still would not have caused an issue, but apparently they were (via a third-party inspection later) not lubricated properly/completely either. They claimed someone else unplugged the ejector pump, which is very unlikely, as A-Pete's is the only one who has ever touched our flood control. And there's more to this story, but suffice to say I will never use them again. Good customer service means making wrongs right - providing excuses is NOT the way to retain customers.
