When working with my home warranty company on a service request, they called Shenendoah Appliance and Plumbing to see if they had the expertise and availability to help. The representative from the home warranty company then told me that Shenendoah Appliance would not take the service request because I had been difficult to work with in the past. I’ve never worked with them before and did not appreciate being chastised by the home warranty company representative either. So when my service call ended I called Shenendoah Plumbing to see why they would say that. The employee I spoke with asked me where I lived and I told her. She then apologized and said it was a different customer with a similar last name in a different city. She apologized and took responsibility, and also don’t work on the brand of appliance I have so it wouldn’t have worked out anyway, but nonetheless pretty unprofessional.

Shenandoah Appliance was first assigned to repair my dishwasher in 2019 when the soap dispenser door was broken. The technician installed it backwards it seemed but he said it was fine. Then in spring 2020 the dishwasher was leaking. Same company assigned to the repair, told I needed a new gasket/seal around door and that was installed improperly since leak got worse. Company sent a new technician who identified the problem and put seal in properly and flipped soap dispenser to correct direction. He also commented that water had been leaking into the door from the incorrectly installed soap dispenser and the door is all rusted inside. Then soap dispenser drained of rinse agent so called company back and was told I needed a new dispenser. That was installed last week but then dishwasher started leaking again. I called company back and asked for an appointment and heard nothing. Called the next day and was told they were waiting to hear from a technician about the problem. I asked again to have an appointment scheduled and was told they would get back to me. I asked for an appointment for the next day and was told they were booked and couldn’t bump other appointments for me. I said they should since they created the problem and the woman said they couldn’t. I asked to speak to the manager or owner and was told that person would have to call me back. Haven’t heard a word from this company since that conversation on August 6th and the dishwasher continues to leak. I am now looking for another company to repair Shenandoah Appliance’s non-repair of my dishwasher. I will not use this company again even though they seemed to have done a good job repairing my clothes dryer.

The competent repairman showed up literally within 60 minutes of my call. The dispatcher was professional, precise in her quotation, and made sure the tech had the parts in stick he would need to fix our dryer. He fixed it in less than an hour and was even nice enough to recommend we do some duct cleaning. Shenandoah Appliance Plumbing & Electric is definitely my new Go-To business for appliance repair.
