  I hired Mike a few years ago for a drawing for a porch a client wanted me to build. I had worked with several engineers in the past and I spent a lot of time trying to get a hold of them for clarifications or change orders only to leave voice mails and text with no call backs. Working with Mike has been a game changer. He's very responsive and thorough with drawings. If there were a sixth star It would be on this review. ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️

  I owned a commercial building in Darlington that had some pretty severe storm damage. I reached out to Mr. Padgett and he told me he could get the place rebuilt and also act as the general contractor for me since I was out of state. After a couple of months of nothing happening I checked in to see what's going on. He tells me he has a demo company lined up but waiting on steel contractor. Ok fine. Month after month, it's the same story. So, I reach out to a commercial builder in the area and tell him the story. As I'm relaying my story to this contractor, he starts laughing and says, "is your contractor Mike Padgett?". I say, "yes, why is he not capable of doing this job?" His answer, "uh..... I don't think so". So needless to say, I ended up not using Padgett and not because of what this other contractor said, but because Mike just never came through with any subcontractors, never stayed in touch, or followed up to say hey I think we can start on such and such date. Moral of the story, if you need a bathroom or a shed designed, this is your guy, but anything more complex, forget it.

  We are fairly new to South Carolina, and after asking for recommendations for a company that would design a pool house, but not necessarily do the actual construction, we were pointed to Mike Padgett Engineering and Construction. After a brief and pleasant phone conversation with Mike, we set up an appointment. Mike showed up on time, looked over our property, took pictures, asked us what we had in mind, and made creative suggestions. That was the beginning of one of the best business relationships we have ever had! His draftsperson, Susan, worked together with us, Mike, the Waterworks Pool people putting in our pool, and Travis Chisholm, our builder. Mike and Susan’s patience, dedication to their professions, and desire to get us the best product possible happened through seamless teamwork, expert listening skills, and excellent communication. Although they are very busy (no surprise there!), we received our plans (at an appropriate and reasonable cost) within the timeframe we had hoped for. We highly recommend Mike Padgett and Susan Dreser. Based on our experience with them, we would not hesitate to work with them for any future needs we may have.
