  Wow! What a positive construction experience from start to end. Chris was pleasant and explained the whole process well (and it played out exactly as he described). John G the Project Manager was accessible and answered all questions quickly and to our satisfaction. Chris and John helped us solve several design challenges that turned out even better than we had planned. They do not install flooring or do the final paint coats (they sand/smooth, caulk, and prime their work). The teams sent to do the work were professionals. All inspections passed on first inspection. The tile work is some of the best I've seen in residential work, the framing team was fast and efficient. The drywall was hung with screws, not nails, and the trim and finish were clearly performed by professionals - when our painters arrived, they told us their work was easier(thus reducing cost) because of the high quality of the wall finishes. The flooring company also said their level of prep work was reduced by the quality of the Hivex demolition and build-out. We had our entire basement refinished, added a full bath and a wetbar/kitchenette area. We provided the fixtures we wanted in specific areas (and we got the cabinets and a faucet we wanted). They hung/installed all our items (including mirrors and bath accessories, all cabinet hardware) and provided just about everything else. The level of detail was great - they swapped the hinges and door hardware on existing doors to match their build-out to make it seamless, they updated our existing lights to match the full-build out, replaced wall plates, etc. We selected the tile patterns we wanted, they procured and installed the tile as we asked with no issues. Every ask/request was answered with yes and options on how they could best provide it to us, they did not nickle and dime us with every request - they showed how much was budgeted for that portion of the project, so if we found product at or below that cost they made the change, if it was higher they charged only the difference in price or offered alternatives to meet what we wanted at no additional cost. For the entire process John kept us informed of who was showing up when, and they were accurate/reliable. Chris checked in periodically to ensure we were happy with the progress. They finished almost a month ahead of schedule (we were lucky we had pre-ordered our cabinets, lights, etc. at the start of the project to prevent them waiting on us for delivery). Every employee we spoke with was polite and experienced. The billing/invoicing process was simple and effective. It simply was one of the easiest construction project we have ever experienced. If we ever move, I will not let the builder finish the basement and will only use Hivex for our basement work. In a review I usually will state a "now that I know, the next time I would have done this differently..." but the only thing I would have changed about using Hivex is we would have used them sooner and not gone without a finished basement for so long had we know the level of quality and service we would get. (I've included some in-progress photos, but we have had everything installed, painted, and the floors installed since these.)

  We hired Hivex to finish our basement. They were professional, on time, provided efficient services, while respecting our time and our home. They gave recommendations for other contractors to help with aspects of the work they don't complete (floors, paint, cabinets and counters) which were as professional and respectful as themselves. Definitely recommend.

  HIVEX was absolutely wonderful to work with! We had a partially DIY finished basement that was practically unusable. Chris and the HIVEX team met with us to discuss our needs/wants, developed several options and helped us map out a floor plan into the space we absolutely love. We couldn't be more pleased with the professionalism, timing and overall team that we met and worked with throughout this entire process. We highly recommend HIVEX to our family and friends or anyone else looking to renovate their basement.
