We have used Tweedy over the past five years and always called them back to help out. NEVER AGAIN! Called them to router a clogged patio drain and the process was a dismal failure. The plumber that came was nice enough, but he did not approach the stoppage from both ends--from the drain opening and the street. He concentrated on the opening, but never went to the street outlet that we had discussed early in the operation. He did use a balloon to no avail and said that the pipe was probably broken. He never went to street to work the other way on the blockage. When I called the office yesterday afternoon and explained my displeasure I was told by the son of the owner that "you don't beat horses" and all that could be done was done. I did explain about the other entry point, but that had no impact. He did say that he would talk to his associate and get back to me today, which he did. I called back this morning and was told that the plumber in question had asked me if I wanted him to enter from the street and that I would not cough another $185.00 to do that. That statement was a lie and I told the office so. We had already discussed that approach and the plumber said he was willing to do that if the close drain entry did not work. We did discuss hydro-jet at two different price points, but I did not go for a private jet ticket to Europe! Today, I shared with the office a saying my dad used with me. "There are two parts to every job and you must make every good faith effort to complete both professionally. There was NO Good Faith effort to follow through on the second part-entry from the storm drain on the curb. Money was one reason and fear that their mechanical snake might be damaged... That was the cost of doing business in my previous employ! Never ever again with I hire or recommend Tweedy to do job for me or anyone who asks me for a recommendation. $245.00 down the drain both figuratively and literally...

We had a problem with our shower faucet. The cartridge was leaking. I wish to share that not only was I pleased with their office staff that took down all of my information but they were also able to come out the same day and provide excellent service in the field it seems to be a really well run company with extremely helpful and professional employees. It should be noted that I had called a couple other plumbers they didn’t even pick up their phone. I think it speaks volumes when you can get same-day service when you have an emergency and that goes a long way in my book.

Called Tweedy to unclog a pipe that was causing a back up. They temporarily unclogged the pipe but a few weeks later the problem re occurred causing a huge mess. When I called them back to come and "fix it properly" they wanted to charge me like I was an entirely new customer (no discount, no responsibility whatsoever) and only wanted to talk about all the potential issues that could be causing this. I didn't care about that, I'm not a plumber, I called them to fix it not lecture me on various plumbing issues!!!!!! They clearly did not properly fix the problem correctly the first time. In my opinion these guys are a bunch of bandits. Their initial assessment is $85 but I ended up paying over $400 for a job that wasn't properly performed. I've learned my lesson, I will never use them again. Bottom line, they didn't fix my problem. They take no accountability for their incompetance. These guys are a joke.....and yes...I am happy to share my experience with others, especially when they don't stand behind their work. Great talkers lousy plumbers.

To clarify, we cleared Mr. Bigland's sewer pipe stoppage two and a half months ago and thoroughly tested it upon completion. When I spoke to Mr. Bigland this morning, I explained that it is abnormal for a sewer pipe to backup twice within three months, but we do not warranty sewer pipe backups, because we cannot control the condition of the underground pipes or what gets flushed down them (which was also stated in writing on the copy of his invoice that was provided to him). He insisted that the pipe backed up simply due to his upstairs tub draining after his grandchildren took a bath, and I replied that sewer pipes typically only backup when there is an issue with the pipe (ie. roots, a compromised fitting, or belly in the line, etc.) or something gets flushed down the sewer that should not be, like wet wipes or towelettes, some sort of hygiene product, etc. Mr. Bigland quickly became very hostile, yelling and cursing at me over the phone, and insisted that we return to clear the stoppage for free, threatening to write a negative review and tell everyone he knows that we ripped him off if we did not concede to his demands. We are in the business of solving plumbing problems and rely heavily upon our reputation throughout the community, and we do our best to satisfy all of our clients. However, despite our best efforts to explain the scope of work and pricing before starting work, and providing written descriptions of any work performed including relevant warranty information, it is very difficult to satisfy all the people all the time.
