I scheduled an HVAC inspection. I was told it would be $79 as long as there were not issues that needed to be fixed. The technician came to my house and tracked in a black substance on his shoes that I cannot remove from my carpet even with a steam cleaner. He did his inspection and then charged me $174. I asked why this was more than what they told me on the phone, and I did not really understand why (it was all just an inspection, no maintenance). He also said he did not check the A/C because it was too cold outside (it was almost 50 degrees). I e-mailed the company and they are not remedying the situation, only saying they will check out my A/C if there is a problem with it, for no cost. I will not be using this company again.

I was experiencing some water backing up from a laundry drain in the basement. Solutions Plumbing set up an appointment with me first thing a few days after I called and the plumber was promptly on time (even called ahead). Charlie quickly and efficiently assessed the issue and took his time cleaning out the drain and piping (sensitive due to it being cast iron). He was quick, efficient and kept the immediate area clean of gunk and excess water. Great experience and would highly recommend.

I do not have words to describe the rudeness and unprofessionalism I experienced working with Solutions Mechanical & Plumbing. First, the plumber and his apprentice were completely rude and seemed disgruntled by the idea that they had to fix unforeseen (but common) issues with the toilet replacement. They made disparaging comments about our house, even after we told them it was a fix-up job inherited from a deceased parent. They arrived at our homes maskless despite the pandemic and pretended to not be sure if they had masks on hand to wear. It was only after offering them spare masks of our own that they reluctantly put on theirs. After arriving, they sat in our driveway having breakfast before getting to work. The apprentice repeatedly summoned us with commands and was on his phone throughout the process. He also may or may not have smeared gum on the bumper of our car on the way out. Finally, they accidentally broke an expensive glass shelf in our bathroom, took the shelf with them, and then attempted to replace it with a poorly shaped and uneven, very cheap shelf. They refused to replace it with an equivalent shelf. When we contacted the headquarters to complain about this behavior, they provided excuses for the apprentice and the plumber and treated us with absolute disdain and rudeness. They went as far as to claim that "they don't wear masks where they're from" - not sure where they could be from that isn't also legally required to wear masks during a global pandemic. I will never work with them again and I strongly advise you to seek help for your needs elsewhere.
Response from the owner
Our apprentice technician has braces and does not chew gum. Whatever mans by which gum appeared on your car had nothing to do with us. I can only assume this is the 'excuse' to which you are referring. Our technicians do wear masks, so the comments about them not wearing masks are unfounded. The replacement shelf was cut by a reputable glass company with the exact angle of bevel around the edge as the original. We have pictures of both pieces of glass that show that it was a like for like replacement. The glass would not have been broken if there was anything more more than a small passageway through the entire house due to excessive clutter. You stated the office was rude to you, however the recorded conversations between you and the office tells a different tale. You actually thanked Solutions Mechanical for taking your concerns seriously and did not seem deeply concerned about the shelf as long as it was replaced. It was only after we denied your request to have the work done for free that you threatened our company with a bad review. Good luck in your continued search to find charitable tradesmen to do your work for free.
