Don’t try to get a police report for your auto insurance claim. It’s just not going to happen. Apparently it’s handled by one individual and she’s out over Christmas. The insurance company has been trying since November. Meanwhile the car is up for registration, will not pass inspection and I can guarantee my son will get pulled over and ticketed for it.

I made a 911 call about a disturbance in my community.  I was hung up on by the dispatch in the middle of our conversation.  I called back to obtain a name to make a formal complaint.
After five neighbors had called the Sheriffs Department for the same issue, automatic weapons being fired on one acre of property, only a phone report was made.  This has been going on for over eight months absolutely no help from Smith County Sheriffs Department from dispatch to officer.  I’m very dissatisfied.

They are trash. I was booked in. Sick. The nurse did nothing. It is completely unsanitary. No soap. No clean clothes. I spent 6 hours in there. I left and went to the ER. I had walking pneumonia.  Very contagious.  I called the jail to let them know. They're reapones, " we don't care.' Jailers are trash. This.place is a pos.

What the purpose of a sheriff department? Nothing if you live out the county. The have not help us out at all. You call about the noise and all they can say they there was a sheriff that when out there to turn down music. I know that not true because the music has not been turned down.

I have seen in reports that our Great sheriff in Smith County appears to be on top of corruption and lawlessness.  I want to thank him and his office for keeping Smith County safe and law abiding. We are a community of law and order.

They really arrested a 22 year old with a brain injury for public intoxication with NO testing and no alcohol in his system.

Big shout out to the officers of Smith county, We were notified of some of our equipment was stolen had been moved to Smith county, the officers meet us on scene and helped us successfully recover our stolen property! Thanks again guys for the help on everything!

I volunteered at Smith Courty for just alittle awhile and loved the people and captain. They were extremely supportive in my career research and would still be volunteering if I hadn’t moved!  No one else I’d rather be pulled over by! Smith County > Tyler Pd 😂

I give them 60% rating at this time as they seem to have improved over the years. Hard to accurately rate a department with such a sordid past. New officers may not be minions of Tyler's old "elite" like they were and hopefully they'll apply the law equally.

Well I'll say this about smith county , and ill try to keep it short. It's getting harder everyday to run into one person who hasn't visited this place once or twice , more so that actually did what they were put in there for. I know ....everyone is innocent right? Why do you think there is a saying ( come on vacation, leave on probation.)? Smith county is know for it's smith county justice. Most of the time the way an officer( gets the bad guy . ). Is to place himself around a person and use the phrase ( we had a call on a domestic dispute, and your truck matches a description. Or other false pretenses to ask to search or detain you until you might say the wrong thing or start getting aggravated so he can ( take you downtown for questioning ) book you in, which takes all damn night while your trying to use 1 of two phones to call anyone to help you get out , but they can't because your not booked in yet. I know keep it short . That was not a real life occasion I spoke of ( for me alone ) but seems to be alot of very similar fictitious stories coming from the same place of origin . Not a nice place. You are guilty until proven innocent and if you have no money ,prepare to be royally taken care of for a brief stay with no mistakes and justice will prevail . Cough ,cough .... one more thing quickly . They most definitely are not in it just for the money ...or make up laws like 180 day probated for ten years ....or after the ten years ...add two more...hmmm sounds like adding punishment to the same crime...child support....is a crime punishable by death...of your financial goals,future,life. That's not all ,but I'll end my rant here for now. I had to put one star ...they didn't have a set of negative numbers.
