The first time I used Pink Plumbing I had good service. The second time about a year later however was an entirely different story. I called to have an old toilet removed that was leaking into the downstairs ceiling, and a new one installed. The Pink Plumber came out, replaced the shut off valve and told me I needed a new toilet. (I had already told them I needed a new toilet when I called.) The plumber told me he needed to come back to install a toilet. I was told to pay the bill when the 30 minute (at most) toilet install was finished - no invoice provided. I paid the $789 charge since they required it. I then requested an invoice so I could see what the charges were for, and for how much. After 2 requests I finally received an invoice with some details that I had requested. They billed me for a 'Probil' toilet, however stamped on the toilet installed is 'Project Source' .The cost of this same Project Source toilet at Lowes: is $99. The cost of a shutoff is $20 at most. I did some investigating/reconciling. For 2 toilets that I subsequently had installed by Home Depot ( including a new shut off provided), I was charged $129 each, or a total of $258. These 2 toilets (American Standard, a superior toilet to Project Source) cost $398. So my total bill for TWO superior grade toilets installed plus a shut off was $656 plus tax. Compare this to Pink Plumbing's charges. From Pink Plumbing I was charged $789 for ONE lower grade toilet and a shut off. ($250 to replace the shut off, and $539 to replace one toilet with a $100 at retail Project Source toilet.)When I disputed their charges to me - claiming that I had been substantially overcharged for the product and service I received - I was told the owner would get back to me as soon as possible. The Owner( nor anyone else) never got back to me. Beware of Pink Plumbing's charges.

Long story short, I needed 4 quotes and paid $49 on 02/02/2022. Unfortunately, I only ever received 1 quote. On 1/31/2022, Brad of Pink Plumbing was scheduled to come by at 0830 per Kristi, their office manager, who was a delight to speak to, stating they are a family-owned company. Fantastic! That said, no one arrived at 0830. Maybe I was mistaken. I received a text at 0902, "Brad from Pink Plumbing is en route now." Brad did not arrive until 0955, which would be fine, except I was told they would be arrived at 0830. Upon arrival, I inquired as to the appointment time, and they responded they have a window from 8 to 10 AM. Okay. Maybe Kristi was just unclear. No problem. I just had to be at work by 1100, and they stated this should be no problem. The quotes I requested at this paid visit: Quote #1: To replace polybutylene to PEX in a master shower and tub. This quote was received. Quote #2: To move a kitchen PVC drain pipe from immediately in front of our crawlspace access to further away. This quote was never received. Quote #3: To completely plumb our garage and unfinished ROG, including a slop sink, tankless water heater (or connection to main house), as well as upstairs toilet, shower, and sink. Brad told me he would speak to his boss and get back to me, as this was more complex. No problem. Quote #4A: To either increase the diameter of PEX to our kitchen sink to 3/4" from 1/2" or draw from closer to the main hot water line, as our kitchen sink is the only place in the house that takes several minutes to receive hot water. Quote #4B: Install a small, in-line, on-demand water heater for the kitchen sink. On 02/02/2022, I sent an email detailing these requests, as I only received quote #1, yet all were discussed, in detail at the initial visit. A response stated Brad would be getting back to me ASAP. Kristi also apologized, as she stated he should have been there by 0830 but may have needed to purchase gasoline or parts. That's fine, I just want the quote and to get the work started... On 02/03/2022, I sent a follow-up. No response. On 02/07/2022, I sent another follow-up. On 02/08/2022, I was told "Brad's working on getting you this info today." On 02/16/2022, exasperated, I sent an email, "Any...update?" No response. What's crazy is I was going to give this company plenty of plumbing business, some of which was likely elective and expensive. In any case, I cannot recommend this company, despite having a dedicated individual who answers the phone and being family-owned. Should anyone find a decent plumber in Charleston, let me know, because this ain't it.
Response from the owner
Jon, I'm very sorry for your bad experience and I'd be more than happy to speak with you to discuss your problems and how to solve them. My name is Jud Leggett, the owner and I can help solve the problems you've faced so that you and no else has the same problem in the future.

We had such a great experience with Pink Plumbing. They were able to fit us in same day to repair a leak and I couldn’t have been more pleased. Seriously, I don’t think I’ve ever called a service provider and had them fit me in same day- were so grateful they were able to do so. They arrived on time and were very professional. I would definitely recommend and will call them for all of my future needs.
Response from the owner
Mrs. Hare: we really appreciate your kind words and the opportunity to help you. We hope you have a great weekend and it was a pleasure working with you.
