  I paid this guy $250 to install a new spigot on the back of my house last summer due to my old one freezing. Less than eight months later, the entire spigot broke and is hanging off of my house. I never had that happen in the 18 years I’ve owned the house and all I did was attach a garden hose to it. I asked the owner if he warrantees his work, and he said no. Two of my coworkers who fix plumbing issues regularly in my local state park told me not only was I overcharged, but it was installed poorly with nothing supporting it. He tried to say it was due to being hit with a lawn mower. That is impossible because it’s located in a corner next to my deck where my mower can’t reach. The bottom line is that it was installed poorly and not reinforced properly and only took attaching my garden hose to it a few times to break it off. And honestly, what vendor fights about such an admitted easy repair? A good one would just fix it. If you’re thinking about having him out for a plumbing issue, I would think twice. It also took two emails from me to receive his two sentence response.

  Tricia, This woodford product was installed according to the manufacturers installation requirements. Thank you for the pictures, they show obvious misuse. Portage Plumbing does warranty their work. warranties would include leaks or malfunctions, NOT misuse. This was either hit with a mower or another impact. As for the the cost it is exactly what any licensed plumber would charge if not less.

  Rerouted and updated plumping and installed washer dryer hookups. Service was of the highest quality and the plumber was very professional. The owner gave accurate estimates up front. The plumber worked efficiently and had a great attitude. He kept smiling even when the work got messy. The entire service showed impressive work ethic. Definitely will recommend them to anyone who needs plumbing services!

  Portage Plumbing did awesome work in our basement; we added a shower and reformatted the kitchen area. They were on time, fast, had an excellent eye for details, reasonably priced, and the finished products not only look great but work well, too. Thank you!
