PSI replaced my furnace recently and did a great job. Their technicians were professional, on time, organized, and knowledgable. I got a fair price on the service and everything was completed to my expectations and satisfaction. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone needing heating or plumbing services.

Jon with PSI serviced my gas boilers. PSI is awesome about communicating about who and when someone is coming for a service call. Jon was professional and knowledgeable about his work. He showed me pictures and gave explanations about repairs that were needed. He sent me a detailed report with pictures and the office scheduled the repairs promptly.

We called PSI to come out after we noticed our booster pump was leaking. This pump ensures water is provided at constant pressure to the entire house. The technician who came out was very friendly and confirmed our suspicion that the pump was the source of the leak. About a day or so later, we received the estimate for $7500, which seemed extremely high. I did a bit of research about the pump and leaks, and then decided to contact the manufacturer directly. Within a day, I received a reply that the pump was still under warranty and eligible for a free replacement. The pump itself was not very expensive--I found a new one on eBay for $650--so I'm struggling to understand why the quote was so excessive. Per the writeup, the work entailed included: Isolate water and power to existing booster pump (there are shutoff valves for both the intake and the discharge and a bypass valve to allow circulation to continue downstream of the pump) Remove and properly dispose of existing booster pump (four nuts hold down the pump, and it is plugged into an outlet, not hard wired. Threaded fittings connect the pump to the water supply) Provide and install (1)one Grundfos CMBE booster pump at existing location (straightforward installation, the opposite of the removal) Pipe installed pump into system (threaded fittings) Connect installed pump into existing power supply (plug into outlet) Purge system and commission installed pump Verify proper operation This was a good learning experience for me, as I opted to work directly with the manufacturer, who sent me a brand new replacement pump within one day. I was able to remove the old pump, install the new one, prime the system and return it to normal operation within 45 minutes. I am mechanically inclined, but had never done a job like this before and was pleased with how straightforward it was. I was even more pleased that I saved $7500 in the process. I also reached out to PSI before posting this review to give them the opportunity to respond, but after waiting a week, they never got back to me with an explanation as to why their quote was so high.

Tony, we appreciate you taking the time to write a review of your experience. Looking at your proposal, I would like to point out that PSI does not purchase parts from Ebay. All of our material/units come straight from the supply house that are approved by the manufacturer. The part you were able to procure on Ebay is indeed at a much lower rate and without the manufacturer warranty that we are able to provide. As well as the quality of the part is unknown. In order to provide licensed contractors and ensure our work we do have a mark upon our parts this is a common practice for Plumbing & HVAC companies in the United States We think it's great that a homeowner is mechanically inclined and if you can put it in yourself, that is wonderful, and we commend you for this. Sometimes that is the most cost-effective way to do it and sometimes is a catastrophe. I do want to personally apologize for the week turnaround to your inquiry, but to sum this up, we are glad that you were able to receive the part under warranty from the manufacturer and install it yourself.
