We have a 100 year old house that requires a lot of maintenance and upgrades. Pete's has been amazing. All of their techs are great to work with. The office is communicative and responsive. Great experience.

While visiting family, the HOA of our elderly parents’ building called Petes Plumbing to inspect and diagnose a leak in a second floor unit that was believed to be coming from our third floor unit. When we first spoke with the plumber, he had not inspected inside the ceiling of 2nd floor unit at the time they decided that the 3rd floor must reset a toilet guessing that a leak in the seal was the issue. We then called and spoke with the general manager, who was nice and responsive (many thanks to Patricia). It was only after the GM spoke with the plumber, Ron, and called us back that we were advised the plumber had opened the 2nd floor ceiling and found it was the 3rd floor toilet leaking. After the information from the GM and discussing, we agreed to the toilet reset but the plumber refused to do the work though he was still on property. This seems poor customer service as well as poor handling by the HOA.
Response from the owner
We are sorry we couldn't complete the repair to the toilet in your parents' home. We followed up with the resident below your unit and found the interaction was somewhat different than explained to our General Manager. The repair was not an HOA responsibility. We were out to troubleshoot the leak and found it was from a faulty seal of the toilet in your parents' home and thus, the responsibility of your parents. When it became clear our recommendation was being met with more than a little resistance, we chose not to make a bad situation worse. As you said when you called into our office, you are an attorney. That in itself means you view the work our men do as being somewhat beneath you. I am sure when you have a client in your office, they trust your experience of the law without you taking them to your law library to view the written letter of the law. Our service technician did not want to make a ceiling intrusion in the lower unit because it would leave a gaping hole which would have been left unrepaired but we did so anyway. Per your statements to our General Manager, you and your family were leaving to go to South Africa the very next day and the inconvenience would have not been to your family but to the resident below yours. Thank you for taking the time to contact us.

Frank did a great job. He quickly identified the issue with my tankless heater and returned a couple of times to install parts until he had fully resolved the issue. Tony had also helped me on a prior experience and equally, professional and knowledgeable. Lynette equally, is very helpful and responsive whenever I called for help.
