I discovered Legacy Plumbing a few years ago after being constantly ripped-off by companies that spend lots on money advertising on TV. I have found them to be incredibly professional and very reasonably priced. Over the past 2 weeks, I had a couple of incredible experiences with them that I still cannot believe. Last week, I asked them to replace my 30+ year-old sump pump that was enclosed in a basin in the floor between my washer and dryer. In the 30 year's I've owned the house it has never been serviced. Finally, fate caught up with me and it died. I knew it would be an ordeal to replace and it was. But Mike stuck with it most of the day finding an appropriate replacement, custom fitting a cover, replacing pipes, etc. I was shocked at how reasonable the bill was and I was a very satisfied customer. Earlier this week, fate struck again, and I realized that something was not right with the sump pump or associated parts. I called Legacy again and Mike returned this morning. He spent 3.5 hours diagnosing and fixing the problem which ended up being a blockage in the pipe leading into the main sewage line. When he said goodbye, I asked him to bring me the bill. He told me that he had talked with his supervisor and that there would be no charge. I was absolutely stunned because I knew how difficult this had been. He said he found a piece of plastic that blocked the line, and it MAY have been a part of the old pump that he missed. Thus, there would be no charge. If you're looking for a customer friendly, professional plumbing company with incredible integrity, Legacy Plumbing in Raleigh is incredible.

I was about to give a 5-star review for coming same day to fix my sewer main and complete the job within 1 hour. Then they charged me for 15 min of driving (ok, fine), 20 min of casual tool cleaning (really?), and 15 MIN FOR WRITING UP THE BILL! Yes, they charged me for the time it took to calculate and type up the total—ridiculous! UPDATE RESPONSE: Jamie and the technician were courteous and helpful, and I appreciated the same-day service. I also I agree people should get paid; no one is disputing that. But I just can’t stomach being charged $125/hr to write up my bill. I just spoke with another plumber who said he doesn’t charge for cleaning tools or writing up the bill and that it is not industry practice. Can’t believe the world’s come to this, but now I know to ask whether a service contractor will charge me to calculate how much to charge me.

Hi Jermey, We are sorry you are not happy with your bill today. When I scheduled with you today, you asked for same day service. I moved another customer to get a plumber to your home same day for an easy repair you did not want to do yourself. Thought I was doing you a favor as a first time customer. Our plumbers do get paid to clean and put up their tools used on every job and we do charge to write up the invoice for the customer as just about all other service companies do. The plumbers do not work for free. We also did not charge a full second hour of labor like most service companies, we only charged 1/2 hour of labor to save you money. I am surprised you are giving us a one star review, but we understand you can not satisfy every customer. We wish you the best with your next plumbing company. Jamie Dickenson Legacy Plumbing Co.
