We used this plumbing service as part of our contract with American Home Service warranty. The office staff is the only reason I am giving this company a 1 star and not 0 stars because they were responsive and courteous. Dave, our plumber, needs some lessons in basic manners and professionalism. We had a tub faucet needed to be replaced and were asking some questions about some of the work he was performing. With every question he was immediately defensive and would talk down to us in a disrespectful tone. He was dismissive when we asked him to wear shoe covers (he did but not without a rude eye roll). We noticed water in the basement and a smoke smell and did not know he had to solder a part (he told us this only after we questioned him and he accused us of being disrespectful to him for asking a simple question!) We have a young child so we want to make sure our house is safe! If a customer asks questions about work being done in their own house, a contractor needs to be forthcoming and not act "put out" because we genuinely want to know what is being done in our home. This seems basic to me but apparently not to Dave.

Kristen, I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with our company but perhaps a little context would help you understand what happened at your residence. First, you insisted on ordering your own parts for the job rather than having us supply them as we strongly suggested. When you ordered the parts you failed to order everything that we told you was needed so when we came back to your home we were unable to complete the work and we didn't receive (nor request) any payment for your avoidable mistake. Once the proper parts were ordered your husband followed two steps behind our technician for the entirety of the job asking questions and wanting explanations for every turn of his wrench. Unfortunately our company is paid by the job (not by the hour) so we are not able to provide plumbing education to your husband. For example, your husband wanted our technician to explain to him why Indiana plumbing code was different than code in Houston, TX and would not accept our technician's answer that he didn't know Texas code. When the technician finally asked if he could please be allowed to do his job that was when your husband became visibly upset that we wouldn't answer what he thought were one hundred reasonable questions. I'm sorry you had a negative experience but you'll note from our excellent review scores that your situation was really an outlier. Next time I hope you are able to find someone who can take the time to teach your husband how to plumb, he seems to be really interested in the topic!

HORRIBLE!!!! My home warranty company assigned them. They called to set up an appt 2 days out and in the meantime I have no hot water. They were supposed to show Friday between 9-12pm and then called at 9:30am saying they only have one plumber and need to reschedule. I explained that I have had no hot water for two days with a family of six and the lady on the phone basically did not care. If you have one plumber why are you on an approved list for home warranty? Also, having no hot water is a pretty urgent matter.
Response from the owner
Hi Brian, I am sorry to hear you were unhappy with how quickly we were able to provide you service. I do note that your business with us came through your home warranty company and we were able to offer you an appointment within the timeframe that you agreed on when you signed a contract with them. I further ask that you consider whether or not calling our receptionist a "f***ing idiot" due to your frustration with your home warranty company is behavior you would want your family of 6 to witness or emulate. I know I would be absolutely ashamed if my son watched me pick on a young girl in an effort to make myself feel better for something that is my own fault. I hope you were able to get your water back on promptly and you reconsider whether the timeliness standards you agreed to when you signed your contract work for you.

Absolutely do not use this company. Plumber that came out was rude. He did not fix the problem then caused another one. The issue was that the toilet wasn't flushing correctly and he put sulfuric acid in the toilet. Not only did it not fix the problem it caused the toilet to leak around at the base from dissolving the wax ring. I pointed this out to him and he got more attitude and said it was fine and cleaned it up with toilet paper. Then told warranty company that problem was error in design (even tho toilet worked fine for years) and got claim denied. Then they called me and tried to have me pay then directly to come out and replace toilet. So basically sell me a service they should have done. Toilet still leaking into floor and coming up thru tile. I call them to get it resolved and they refuse to fix the problem they caused and tell me to call warranty company. Person on phone laughs at me near end of call after I asked them if their company is really ok with causing property damage and not fixing it. Don't use this company unless you want to get a new problem then the one they came to fix UPDATE: they have followed their trend of taking no accountability for what they do or don't do and responding as such. They say I created 3 new issues to get a new toilet when the only new issue was the one their plumber created by acidizing the toilet and causing it to leak which I pointed out before he left the first time. He only returned once and did nothing before leaving and telling me there's nothing he could do

Derrick, I'm sorry you weren't happy with your service. As you pointed out, your home warranty company denied your claim because your toilet is operational - they do not pay for you to replace things that are working. There was, and is, nothing wrong with your toilet and you have now come up with three "new" problems because you want your warranty company to buy you a new toilet. Furthermore, we came to your house multiple times after acidizing your functioning toilet and there was no problem with the toilet or the wax ring nor any other aspect of your toilet on any of the visits we made to your home after we acidized it. If there would have been a leak after we worked on it you would have noticed it immediately. You are misdirecting your frustration at not understanding your contract with your home warranty company at my company. I ask you please read your contract and then decide if your home warranty is right for you.
