I requested an estimate to replace a propane tank and connect it to a stove inside my house. Rick and Claudia were a pleasure to work with. They were responsive in getting the job completed. The quality of the work was exceptional and it was obvious that they take a lot of pride in their work. I will use them in the future and would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone, unconditionally.

Another reviewer had the same bad experience as we did. Florida Gas and Plumbing jacked me around for over a month promising to follow-up. Company was referred by Clearwater Gas to relocate some ventilation and gas connections to connect a new range. Estimator Rick came to the house, reviewed the job in detail and we had a game plan for the work. I had emphasized that we were more interested in getting job done right than right away and that we would coordinate in any way to schedule work when appropriate workers were available. Rick promised to forward an estimate and that I could expect a call from their scheduler in a day or two. Several days passed, and I contacted their scheduler to follow-up. She told me that Rick had gotten busy and didn't put the estimate together yet. She would contact him and have something for me soon. A week went by and I contacted them again. Same response; Rick is buried and we'll forward something soon. All I was looking for was an estimate and scope of work. When Rick was at our home, there were no unanswered questions or issues. He had even given me a 'ballpark' to expect but promised to provide an estimate. This repeated several times over the next few weeks to the point that I asked the scheduler if there was some problem. She claimed it was just a busy period and Rick would have something. Today, I called and asked the scheduler if I could speak to Rick in order to understand what was taking so long. She assured me that he was on the phone in the same office and would call me back as soon as he completed his call. That was several hours ago. This entire episode has now lasted a month. And there is no explanation regarding why I can't get my relatively modest job done by the provider recommended by Clearwater Gas. To add insult to injury, the company replied to this review below and affirmed everything except the dozen or so phone calls that were answered by their scheduler and un-responded to by the estimator as promised repeatedly. Then the company lies and says that the estimate was ready and the job scheduled. Simply not true. Unless you have an appetite for delay and mis-representation, I would avoid Florida Gas and Plumbing Inc.

In response to your review, first it was not "over a month ago". Your estimate was scheduled for 1/5/2022, second he gave you a verbal on the spot for the job. You called in wanting the estimate to include certain things and done a certain way. You also told me weren't in such a hurry to get it done as you were to have "THE RIGHT PEOPLE" out there to do the job. I took your calls so I know what was said. Unfortunately we try to do what we can for everyone but it seems sometimes you just can't do it fast enough or it is never good enough. You were on the schedule to do your job for 1/25/2022 and the day before you called an canceled saying you wanted a written estimate even after you were given a verbal "on-site" (as you stated) first before we came out to do the job. Unfortunately that messes up our schedule and we had to try and fill that spot at the last minute. We are booking out weeks ahead and Rick works in the field as well as does estimating. I am not sure why you had to include Clearwater Gas in this since they don't control our schedule except to "NAME DROP". They have nothing to do with the estimate or the job it was a simple recommendation and you could have gone anywhere to get an estimate. They usually recommend multiple companies and you chose us so they have nothing to do with this. I have your estimate ready to send to you but at this time and after your "OPINION" of our company we respectfully decline to do your work and wish you well with your future projects.

A MUST READ. A service tech/sales rep, (or whatever title this company has branded him with), Rick, very possibly could be the one and only demise of this company. Rick is definitely one of the laziest, most disrespectful, excuse making person and rudest employee I have ever had to deal with from another company. Rick definitely hates his job and is obviously struggling in life. My client contacted this gas company to have their gas line relocated so it would not effect the look of their new tile backsplash for their new outdoor kitchen we are building for them. Unfortunately, my client got stuck with Rick coming to their house. My client called me after his consultation with Rick. After listening to my client it was clear this guy, Rick, was very lazy. My client asked me if I could help him out by calling Rick to explain what needs to be done to get the best look for what they wanted. He was very confused after speaking to Rick and didn’t think Rick really understood what they wanted. This was a very easy job that may have taken 90 minutes at best. I called their office and was told my information would be given to Rick and he would return my call. Didn’t happen. I called again about six days later and was told the same. Later in the day Rick called me back. Before I comment any further I want to say that we have many team members at our remodeling company. This guy, Rick, would immediately be fired if he ever showed an attitude like this to one of our clients. I certainly hope the owners of this company read this review and relieve Rick of his duties. If not, I would never recommend this company to anyone. After about 3 minutes of listening to Ricks very obvious and extremely lazy, idiotic perspective of how my clients gas line for their outdoor kitchen should be run, I realized my opinion of Rick was spot on. I couldn’t have been more accurate. Rick literally said the aesthetics of the gas line going through the new tile wall didn’t matter and wasn’t worth it. Said we can just notch the tile. I attempted to explain to Rick how we needed the gas line to be run and Rick said he didn’t look at that option. His attitude got worse. He stated this will cause an additional trip and if he had to come back for a second trip, he was going to charge my client a “hefty” price tag. Absolutely a horrific attitude. I may have been able to say eight or ten words in between Ricks interruptions before I started to laugh under my breath. I was thinking what I told my client about his laziness without even meeting this guy. I finally realized I had to interrupt Rick this time and just told him he wouldn’t need to worry about coming out for a second trip, that he wasn’t even going to have to worry about a first trip. Rick said, good, and hung up on me. I have never spoken to Rick or this company before other than leaving messages for a return call. I knew from listening to my client what type of person Rick was going to be. I’ve been in the construction industry for a long time and you learn to develop a good perspective of people and how they work. Rick is just one of those people who gives the construction industry a bad name. It is my hope that one of three things happen. Rick to immediately leave this industry and never return. Rick be fired immediately or Rick seeks some sort of self help development course to better himself and his life. Hopefully, it will allow him to live a better life and develop a positive work ethic with a team working perspective. Any company owner in this industry deserves a good quality team member and appreciates a good attitude and work ethic from their team members. It’s hard enough without having people like Rick around, ruining the industry. I’m actually thankful this happened, though. I can easily predict what type of work my client would have ended up with from Rick. I do want to say the lady who answered the phone at the office was nice and did her job as she said. It’s my opinion this company deserves to flourish and grow like others. But, definitely not with this Rick guy.

    Response from the owner

We are sorry you feel this way however, we would be the contractor on the job and ultimately be the one responsible for the job so we would want to do the job the most efficient and safe way possible for both our company and the Customer. To avoid any misunderstandings I believe you as the "remodeling company" should have been out there with "your client" when our estimator came to explain anything you needed done instead of "your client" trying to explain it to the estimator and then you wanting to get involved over the phone. Everyone there on the jobsite could have prevented any misunderstandings and clarified what needed to be completed. If we can't agree on a job we will walk away because in the end we are the responsible contractor on the job and it is our license and our insurance. We stand on safety first. We wish you the best on your project.
