We had an excellent experience in getting our kitchen drain repaired. The Administrative Assistant, Michelle was friendly and helpful in explaining the details of the needed repair. Michelle was a pleasure to work with and got a plumber right out to take care of the job. The plumber had quite a job in cutting our concrete block to access our leaking kitchen drain. Jim and Shawn repaired it professionally and were personable and very detailed in making this difficult repair. I would recommend Besel Plumbing for any extensive repairs that you may need. The plumber did a great job of cleaning up and making sure the repair looked good. He also had to repair the block and did an excellent job of replacing the mortar and making it look like new!

Besel plumbing was highly recommended by my neighbor and I was informed they do work for many of the people on my street. We recently moved into a home in St. Petersburg and had some issues with two of our showers. The tech that came to our home for the first visit was professional and punctual. While he was here, our shower upstairs began leaking through the ceiling. I thought, "wow how lucky that the plumber is here!" (Turns out I was not so lucky). I asked the tech to please look at it and he assured me it was because the "shower curtain wasn't closed all the way." I was not satisfied with the response and decided to run the shower again, while ensuring no water was getting out. Water still flooded through my ceiling. I called Besel plumbing back and they assured me someone would call me to schedule another appointment. After I didn't hear from them, I decided to have my husband attempt a call. He was told that a meeting was held by the company and they would be "declining service" for my residence. My husband continued to ask for an explanation...was this personal? was there anything we could to remedy the situation? did it have to do with the home? And we were continuously told that service was being denied. With the rise in antisemitism, we are always a little apprehensive that people are being discriminatory towards our family because we are Jewish. We continued to ask if this was personal, about the home, and if there was something we could do to make it right. The woman on the phone became extremely argumentative, informed us we were being marked for "harassment" and refused to provide any other information. After further investigation, this company did some work on my home in 2004. I am highly suspicious something is being covered up here because they refuse to tell us what is wrong with the home or why they are declining service. Based on my interaction with this company today, I will not recommend this company to anyone and informed my neighbors of my experience. I truly never write reviews, so please approach this company with extreme caution.

Thank you for your review, Mrs. Hawkins. We are constantly training our Besel family in technical and people skills and these reviews are invaluable for training. We take them very seriously. First off, let me assure you that what happened has nothing to do with your being Jewish. We had no way of knowing that you were Jewish. We have many Jewish clients whom we consider good friends and have had the pleasure of serving for many years. We take pride in servicing our local temple and their congregation. I must assume the blame for Michelle not giving you more information. I know that frustrates her at times and she may get a little short. We are working on it. As a matter of fact, I thank you for giving us this public platform from which we can thank her for her service in the United States Army where she served in Operation Desert Storm & Desert Shield, trained with the Israeli army, made many good friends in Israel, stayed in their homes, fellowshipped with their families and communicates with them on a regular basis. Our “Do Not Service” policy was implemented to reduce the stress that the tide of current events has put on all of us. Most of the time we ask to be excused because of an incompatibility of some sort; a bad experience by one of our service techs, too many complaints or accusations from a customer, a home that has not been plumbed to code, unsafe or unsanitary working conditions and so on. Our men and women are under a lot of stress these days (just with having to wear the uncomfortable masks while working for example.) We are fortunate to have the vast clientele that we have while realizing and accepting the fact that we cannot be everybody’s plumber. The very fact that we were “highly recommended” and “do work for many people” on your street speaks for itself. The only thing that is being “covered up” is that we would like to have the option not to work for some people. Sometimes relationships click and sometimes they don’t. You already said that you were not comfortable with our tech’s response. In your case we have nothing against you; He asked to not be sent there again. We ask to be excused. It is that simple. Joe came out to take care of a slab leak between my kitchen and bathroom walls. He was highly skilled, professional and neat. I had started working with another plumber, but they were not able to come back out timely to finish their work, and Besel was able to come out very quickly (as I was without water) and they worked with me on the cost of the job! I would highly recommend them!
