We had Courcy show up to repair a main water leak. The job was difficult but Mike Courcy knew it. They had to dig 450' and bury a new line. He took a month before starting the job and 4 months to "complete" it. During this time, he lied over a few dozen times telling us he'd be over but never showing up. He said he had only 2 employees but he bought out Syracuse Plumbing, so that's also not true. Mike Courcy showed up to our home only once (at the beginning). Then all the problems began. Don't be fooled by his calm and jolly demeanor. He's a figurehead, nothing more. He got mad at us because we kept asking why they would work for a day (or half a day) and then not show up for 10! He kept saying they were busy! This was a $40K job! Wouldn't that be important enough? He forgot to put a tracer line in the ground (which is code) and then made the excuse that they did it intentionally and was going to dig a foot down and put it in later. They were going to bury the county shutoff valve 4' below the ground if I didn't intervene and show them what they were doing. He never restored our lawn because he quit and said he did enough. Now we're left with a $5-10K lawn repair. There are 1 foot ditches, tractor ruts, a berm was taken out and never replaced, and its not reseeded.; all of which he said he would do at the beginning. The repair area is approx. 8000 sq. ft.!! Who does that to a customer? Stay away from anything Courcy owns, including Syracuse Plumbing. They're unreliable, do unprofessional work, are non-responsive, and only care about the money. Those type of people are toxic. :: In response to Mr. Courcy's response, please note that he doesn't deny forgetting the tracer line or burying the county turn off valve. These incidents actually happened. More importantly or the public to know is that the NYS Attorney General is investigating Courcy Enterprises for fraud. Yes, we are covered by an insurance company, but Courcy Enterprises quit before the restoration of our property was complete, which he is responsible for, and now the insurance company won't finish his work and we're being asked to pay for an estimated $10K restoration project. He took out plants, trees, a sidewalk, a berm, and a 15' x 400' section of our lawn and left it that way. (See attached photo) He got paid $40K (!!) and won't finish because he's upset at us? If you refuse return because you think we're difficult Mike, I'm sorry, but maybe no one has ever called you out on your unresponsiveness or never showing up for work. After 3 dozen or more calls over 4 months and you rarely answering, and still not showing up when you said you would, when do the excuses just become lies? You cant deny that either because nothing should take 4 months to complete. AND ITS STILL NOT DONE! Can you imagine the stress you put us under, Mike? My wife had heart surgery over this and you didn't bat an eye... just took the insurance money and ran. You left our property destroyed! And BTW, your reputation isn't what you think. When you do what's right, Mike, I'll take this review down. But I don't think you have the character to do so.

    Response from the owner

There are two sides of every story and I'm sure that people who have dealt with you in the past know exactly the person you are, and people who have dealt with me in the past know exactly the person I am and the work my companies perform, so go ahead and continue to bad mouth me and my companies because the truth will prevail. Also people should know this job was contracted with an insurance company and you had no out of pocket expense.

After the 3rd or 4th time our sewer backed up in our basement, our plumber suggested that we needed a new sewer line put in, and they recommended Mike Courcy. I called him and, in short order, he sent me a bid for the work. The bid was very reasonable, and the work to be done was spelled out in detail. We scheduled a date for the work to be done. The workers arrived about 8:15, and by about 2:15 they had completed their work, filled in the holes that were needed to be dug, AND they left the remaining part of the yard in good shape. We couldn't be happier with the work that was done, with the excellent crew that came out, and with the result we experienced! I would recommend Mike and his company without hesitation or reservation!

From the outset Mike was courteous and forward. His price was clear and affordable compared to the other quotes I received. His staff was timely, professional and thorough. I highly recommend Courcy Enterprises. You won't regret choosing them!
