UPDATE 3/4/2022: Less than 10 months after having them repair the leak it has come back. Same spot at this point. Unfortunately, I believe they are going to try to get out of their warranty. I haven't been able to schedule work to get the job done because they keep sending technicians out. They sent a technician out on Monday and told me that they would need to send a leak detection specialist out on Thursday (It was visible from outside). The technician came out on Thursday and tried to convince me to replumb and told me that if they dig up the same spot they and its a different pipe I would have to absorb the whole cost. This made me a little upset because when they came out and did the work they told me they did steps to make sure I wouldn't have to worry about this again in that area. They supposedly sleeved all exposed pipes etc... I called today and they want to send a third technician out instead of scheduling the job. They will come out Monday. I am a little upset right now writing this because I feel like I am being ripped off and I don't feel like I've been taken care of as a customer. I called several other plumbers out and they said its the same spot as the other repair. This would be under their warranty regardless because its the exact same spot they worked at previously. I'm worried that i've been lied to right now. In the meantime we have a leak and it seems like they don't care. I typically don't do reviews unless something bad happens However, my experience with Benjamin Franklin Plumbing of Greenville SC was A+ service. We had a leak in a hard to get to place. I didn't know who to call and Benjamin Franklin was actually my third call. My first call was to a suggestion from nextdoor. They told me to call American Detection Services and to send them the results. The second Plumber I called (the one with the fancy jingle) came out and said that they heard the leak but they would demo the whole bathroom to find it and I should call American Detection Services. I tried calling American Detection Services and was told that it would be a while before they could send someone out. I started googling detection services and came across Benjamin Franklin Plumbing. They sent John out the next day. Not only did he find the leak but he explained to me all my options. John was able to arrange a crew to come take care of the problem the next day. The crew that came out were Stephen and Aaron. I can't say enough about these two guys. They were polite, courteous, hard working and professional. (Benjamin Franklin should give these guys a raise because its hard to find quality people). Anyway...these two guys explained everything to me as they were doing the job. They didn't mind me asking questions and they were okay with me actually looking at the jobsite. Long story short... John came out and actually put effort into finding the problem (this meant something to me). Stephen and Aaron worked hard and did a good job. They actually salvaged a lot of what was in the bathroom which will cut down on other expenses (the bathtub and tile). They also did it in a time frame that I could live with.

Fantastic experience. They showed up in the original time window, was timely when dispatched said they were on they way too. Matthew did a thorough job listening to the problem and checking everything out. Before I knew it I had 3 well laid out options to my water heater problem. I asked how soon to get it done and he said right now :) Project started at 3pm and he work steady and got it done real nice. Great guy, answered all the questions, and did great work. Highly recommend giving them a call.

So I called these guys because I had a 9 month old gas water heater that the pilot light would not stay lit. I am a mechanical person, It was a Sunday and couldn’t find the part locally to buy. Called these guys and was told $129 for an emergency call out. I was fine with that and the guy showed up earlier than expected. He arrives, visually looks at it an diagnosis the problem. He says I have the part on the truck, installed it will be $541. I told him I only paid $430 for the water heater. So while he is there I look up the part and find it for $125 and it is a factory replacement. So I ask him its $129 + $541 = $670 for the service and he says yes. I politely told him no and showed him the driveway after giving him $129 for a problem I diagnosed before he came. In conclusion, I called Rheem and the unit is under warranty so parts were overnighted. Only and I mean only call these guys if you are extremely desperate. I can only imagine what they do to people without common sense.
