  I called ARS for a second bid after receiving one from another flood and fire cleanup business in town. Unlike their competitors ARS took multiple pictures of my basement flood and the damage several inches of water had caused. Also unlike the other bid they were willing to work with my insurance company. Their bid was well under the first bid. They did an outstanding job. I would recommend them to anyone who needs a thorough and complete proposal based on the latest industry standards, honest answers and an excellent work crew.

  Beware of contractors trying to inflate bids to get work. It’s been a week and I feel I can finally post this. We were in the process of selling our house. In this process we had 5 independent different home inspections done. Not one inspection mentioned or highlighted any mold in our home. Then a potential buyer had ARS flood & fire clean up come and do a home inspection. They came back with a shocking bid. They said there was extensive mold and to treat it it would come with an exorbitant price tag, and the bid was only to treat it with a chemical. MOLD is a four letter word that you don’t want to deal with. Nor have your home labeled with that condition. This was a can of worms that was opened, that we wanted to fix correctly, but was overwhelmed when there were no signs of mold, nor had it ever been mentioned or seen by any other people or home inspectors than ARS! ARS claimed extensive mold (which no one could see). Shock and confusion is the best way to put our emotions at this point, dealing with an huge price to only treat(?) the mold. Our listing agent, Tiffany Hartpence at Home Source Realty, recommended we get a second opinion from UpRight to better understand our home and the buyer's request… She recommended Set with UpRight Construction. Seth with UpRight found that there was only a MINIMAL amount of mold in the attic, and said that we should consider installing additional ventilation, so we asked UpRight for a proposal to perform mold remediation and to install additional ventilation (additional ventilation was not included in ARS’s mold treatment proposal). Seth told us that UpRight’s proposal would include removing the mold, not treating it with a chemical. Well, we were glad and mad at the same time – UpRight’s proposal was 60% less than ARS’s proposal, and it included the cost of additional ventilation! We did some research and learned that UpRight is highly qualified to perform mold remediation. Beware of ARS!
