I had a bad experience with Abbey plumbing. Attached are photos of the conversation after I was charged more than double the quoted price. I needed an expansion tank for my boiler replaced (which I supplied myself) and it took 20 minutes, but I was billed for two hours worth of work. I was initially quoted $145 an hour for the job when I scheduled it. My response to his text is as follows: “ At 3:30 the day before you came, I was told that you would arrive first thing in the morning at 8 o’clock. I realize schedules change, but I was not advised of that change until 9:00 when I was told you would be there “within a half hour.” You arrived at 9:50. And upon arrival your truck blocked my driveway for 20 minutes while your engine ran, and you spoke with someone on the phone. I walked by you several times during your phone call. After your 20 minute phone call, you came into the house at 10:10, without speaking to me, or even knocking on the door. I heard noise in the basement and assumed you had let yourself in to finally commence work. I went to meet you. You did not introduce yourself. No matter. To save me being charged for your time I told you I would remove {and dispose of} the old tank, but you insisted that you would do it. I acquiesced. Yes, you had an employee with you, a very small guy who barely spoke English and obviously knew nothing about plumbing. You even made fun of him asking if he “concurred” with one of your pronouncements. You asked him 3 times until he admitted he had no idea what the word “concurred” meant. It was like watching a dog being kicked. The entire time you were in my basement was 20 minutes. Then, you returned to your truck and spoke on the phone again, for an additional ten minutes. Yes, you were on my property for a total of almost one hour, but only 20 minutes was of actual value to me. By the way, what was the scrap value of the old tank you insisted on taking with you?”

When doing routine maintenance on an upstairs toilet I found an issue with the water line and valve that runs to the toilet and recognized that this could quickly turn into a very serious issue. Knowing that this specific repair was outside of my wheelhouse, I called Abbey (after 5pm) and immediately had someone on the line with me. Within a few short hours, they arrived at my home, quickly remedied the issue, charged a fair price, and were gone. It’s not often that I go out of my way to sing praise but in this case it’s well deserved! Very prompt, professional, and wonderful to deal with. I know who I’ll call the next time I need help!

I am a DIY guy, however I was very leary about the existing plumbing it dated back 50 years to when rthe house was built. The shut off valves broke while installing the sink and faucet for our newly renovated kitchen when I tried to install them. I called Abbey plumbing Monday morning they came out that afternoon working around my work schedule and within 2 hours had repaired the flawed plumbing tht was in place and had my new sink and faucet set. I plan to use them on my kids bathroom faucet replacement.
