I’ve been going to the Winneshiek County Fair my whole life but 4H is losing funding so the program is dying, which means there aren’t as many animals, static projects, and other fun fair activities. It’s becoming more and more commercialized. Fingers crossed things improve.

Once again a wonderful production and thank you @LifehouseChurch for providing clean grounds and for cleaning up afterwards! Loved the Decorah rocks this year looking g forward to next year!

Great food for a decent price. Kids always have a blast. This is our 5th time going and the kids never get tired of it.

We are visiting from New York and love this little county fair! There are several little shops and displays if you want to pick up a souvenir. A couple "carnival style" food booths if you're craving some grease and batter, or much more reasonably priced local booths with great homemade food. Admission to the fair is free, but the $35 Grandstand button (admission to all shows, all week) was well worth the investment, especially if you live nearby. Parking is also free, although there's no real lots (other than handicap parking), so sometimes it's a bit of a walk. A few rides and games for the kids to check out, but much nicer (and cheaper!) to focus on the barns and exhibits.

I thought the food selection was extremely poor this past 2019 summer. When I think of fair food I think of food trucks and lots of booths, but I think I only saw 3 options. I also usually enjoy walking through the animal barns and I felt like there were no animals either! Just felt very disconnected. I really enjoyed Josh Turner though!

The racing is great!  But I don't like the fair button idea, since the only attraction the fair has, that I like, is the racing. I also don't see how that would be fair to race car drivers that have their families along.

Nice simple county fair,  easy access, great concerts, nice folk.

The Dana Lansing building is nice.  It is not very old but already shows signs of some TLC needed, ie paint, bathroom baseboard reattached to wall.

Most of buildings old and need much fixing or replaced.

The fairgrounds support many a local event, but the actual fair itself is not my cup of tea. The location is small, so the fair ends up being really cramped. That's probably my biggest complaint. They try to squeeze to much into a small area, but there's still not much for an adult to do there.
