The manager came out to look at my hot water tank. He said I needed a new hot water tank however he said the warranty company won’t pay. He said if it leaks again call in another claim. He stated if it was him he would replace it. He never gave me an invoice of what work he had perform. He at first didn’t want to give me a business card. He left the job without addressing the issue.

Our service technician is always helpful, courteous, personable and patient.

The United Air Temp technician worked an extremely long day and drove from the other side of the state to get to me. He had been working from early in the morning on other jobs, and called me around 11pm and asked what the issue was. Lawrence was very understanding, and when he heard that the AC unit controlled my children's bedroom temperature, he drove over from his last job right away. He diagnosed the issue quickly (wiring issues were causing an overcurrent short), and even went above and beyond and showed me how to maintain the system professionally and what to check for, not leaving until 2am! My family and I are extremely grateful for his knowledge, professionalism, and work ethic. Thank you Lawrence (from Annapolis), thank you United Air Temp!

Summary: absolutely terrible scam artist who you should run away from!!

I would give negative stars if I could. This sham of a company was sent to my house by my home warranty company when the air conditioner stopped functioning. The tech tells me that there is a leak in the refrigerant and it will need to repaired and charged with 7-9 lbs of R-22 OR he highly recommends replacing the system. The refrigerant costs $150/lb. He tries to get me on the phone with a manager to sell me a new system immediately, telling the manager I’m wanting to replace. I said no such thing. I said I wanted to compare the prices. I had a bad feeling about them already, told them I needed to think about it and would contact them again. I call a trusted and respected company that I have used for many other repairs (I have more than one property) to take a look. They tell me that yes there is a leak but my system can take 4 lb of refrigerant MAX. I had this company recharge (3 lbs total at $70/lb- not $150) because it is 95 degrees out and whatever I decide to do will take at least a week. The system begins working perfectly, but they do warn me that there is a leak, so it’s only a matter of time (days or months- depends how fast it leaks) before I have issues again.

I decide to go ahead with the repair since I’ve just fully charged it with refrigerant that can still be used and the repair/part is covered by my warranty.

When the tech comes for the repair, he is still insisting I need 7 lbs+ of refrigerant despite the fact that I’ve just recharged. He will not budge. I obviously ask him to leave and will be canceling my home warranty and going with the company that is honest and respected.

I absolutely believe they are in cahoots with American Home Shield to scam people out of money for unneeded refrigerant and/or to get them to replace their AC on their own dime through them so that American home shield doesn’t have to pay and they make more money.

It’s absolutely criminal. Please contact me if you have dealt with this as well as I am interested in a class action law suit.

4 VISITS, 3 CREDITS, NO SERVICE, WASTED TIME, EMPTY APOLOGIES, AND STILL OFFERING THE SAME STORY!  UNITED AIR TEMP (UAT) serviced my heat and air conditioning at my properties twice a year for two years and everything was good....then everything went downhill; must have been a change in management/dispatch because the communication in their company is non-existent and today was the final straw.
The unit in my Frederick home is in the attic.  It requires a smaller person so they can go in the attic and service it and I remind UAT of that fact every time I scheduled them as well as during the pre-service 24-hour confirmation call.  So for the first of four consecutive visits the service was set to be for $79.99 and they send a guy that was too big. He described the layout, what was required, and advised dispatch and management to review the techs who came out before.  Management apologized for the inconvenience of me taking time off of work, gave me a credit of -$10.00 ($69.99) and assured me it wouldn't happen again (rescheduled). The second time they did it again and sent someone who was too big; luckily I was working from home. Management pleaded that they wanted to make this right, gave me a credit of -$10.00 ($59.99) and assured me it wouldn't happen again (rescheduled 2nd time). 3rd visit...you guessed it, someone who was too tall and too big. I filed a complaint and received a call back from a manager who said he would work with dispatch in Frederick, get a guy that was the right size scheduled, and make this right if I gave them just one more chance.  He was calling around, getting names, and doing plenty of leg work. He gave me another credit of -$10.00 ($49.99) and assured me it wouldn't happen again...unlike the previous times the appointment was never rescheduled because the manager never called me back!
So UAT does their "service specials" calls and I tell the caller they never finished the last service they started. She puts me on hold, talks to the manager, and I explain the situation, how many times they have been out, what my current charge should be, and she assures me she sees the notes, and was set to dispatch a tech "J".  The pre-service reminder call 24-hours before...again, I confirm everything, and the tech "J" is supposed to be sent out.  Appointment window comes and I see the guy get out of the vehicle and he is taller than me and I'm 5'11".  I told him the situation and he says, "yeah, I am not 'J'. I was wondering why the note said to send 'J'?" The tech said he called "J" prior to coming out to see if "J" wanted to go, and J said he would take the call, but dispatch came back and told the tech the manager wanted him to go instead of "J".  The tech was really apologetic, as were all of the others before him, and I was not upset with them, because they are in the field; however, those who are sitting in the comfort of their offices need to first, take their customer into consideration, and then take their techs into consideration because they are the front line and face of your organization.  It is not right that you all are wasting people's time, playing with their money (taking time off for services), or setting the face of your company up to get slapped (metaphorically speaking)!  I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY! SAVE YOUR TIME, YOUR MONEY, AND YOUR TYLENOL! As of today, there is one other review, and it is also for 1 star.  Techs are always on-time, courteous, and polite, but a company is only as good as it's weakest link, which unfortunately for UAT and it's customers is the MANAGEMENT AND DISPATCH office. If management is bad...where do you go from there? I'll tell you, another HVAC company!

This company is a total Fraud..I had a water heater issue,.This guy Imran came to my property and exaggerated figures on plumping made it look like impossible to replace a water heater.Finally costed me less than 1000 for a tank and labor for work.He gave me a quote close to 3k.He is a fraud,.do allow estimates with this guy..he is rude and very unprofessional...Air temp is a disgrace,.staff very unprofessional on the phone .Avoid if you can!No star for me..ZERO
