They overcharged us, saying we owed for 1.5 hrs. of work (@$150/hr.) when the plumber who came did no more than 1 hr. of work. He lacked a supply item and had to leave to go back to their shop to retrieve it and came back 20 minutes later. When done, he sat out in our driveway for 10 minutes and didn't leave until my husband walked out and saw him still there (doing what we're unsure). When asked to review the bill, we were told they use "GPS tracking" and charge "portal-to-portal" meaning from the moment their driver leaves the shop until the job is completed, including time to write up job summary, etc. I've never been charged for drive-time to a job by any tradesperson. When asked how they can justify this given the possibility of needing to go get gas, stop for a bathroom break, slow vs. fast drivers on road, etc., got no answer. Not happy with this first experience and judging by other reviews here mentioning over-billing, it seems there's a well-established pattern.

We've had repeated problems with our well which affected our water pressure in the house for over three years. No one could diagnose, trouble shoot or fix it until we called Tom's Plumbing. Brandon came out not only in two emergency situations when we had no water in the house, he even showed up four hours early for a regular schedule appointment. They had come out before to replace our septic pump and they did a great job and that's before the water pressure issue in the house. I would highly recommend Brandon and Tom's Plumbing. They gave us peace of mind, honest billing (if you want to know what things costs, just ask and they are happy to give you a range of costs so there are no surprises). They are kind, thoughtful and they will get to the bottom of what your house/septic, etc. problem is - thank you!!!! Now, we can take baths and showers without the worry we just lost pressure mid-cleaning and can use other appliances that require water at the same time! The best on the coast!

Tom's Plumbing might be wonderful for people who live in the area permanently. My recent experience was reminiscent of a TV sitcom. Whilst at my vacation home in October, newly installed underfloor heating developed a leak. Brandon fromTom's Plumbing came out and stopped the leak, telling me it was a slow leak. He said they would need to pressure test the system and - to be honest - blinded me with science. I am not a plumber, I saw water coming through the ceiling, the water stopped running when the underfloor heating system was turned off, I thought it'd be a simple procedure to fix the leak. I extended my stay in the USA by several days - changing the flight ticket was costly - they were busy so the repair had to wait. I arranged for them to have a key to get in, I kept making long distance calls from the UK to the USA for updates, and I was led down the garden path. They carried out two pressure tests to the system and told me they could not find a leak. At that point I asked the owner (Rich) who was mumbling incoherently over the phone - "what would you do if it was your home?" Very clear response "I would turn on the heating, find the leak and fix it". I said "fine, let's do that". The leak may or may not be fixed - I will not know until I am there next week and I turn on the heating system because they now refuse to do that until I arrive. I only wanted underfloor heating because last winter I was wearing gloves indoors until the propane gas fire warmed the living area. I spoke to my plumber in the UK who explained that testing is to find the leak and that with 30% pressure loss (which was the amount Brandon told me it had lost), he would have found the pipe where the leak was. However, he added that if he had been the one to turn off the heating system and had found no further water leaking, he would've known the leak was from the underfloor heating and would've simply fixed the leak. He added that he would've carried out the work as quickly as possible. Since I have z-wave technology at my home there, I know the exact amount of time people have been at the house due to door sensors, so I know exactly how many hours it took to actually fix the leak, and approximately how many hours they spent there to carry out two pressure tests. I called the owner, who wrongly accused me of talking over him, I said quietly "I am listening" he repeated "you are talking over me", I said again "I am listening" - his response "I won't talk to you until you arrive next week". Please excuse British slang - I would not recommend these wide boys to anyone. They are opportunists, and single unmarried women are easy prey to tradesmen.
