Do not engage in business with Southern Customs/ Shannon Thomas. After multiple times of failing to show up to do work, Shannon has failed to return my deposit as promised. He has now blocked all forms of communication. If you are in Louisiana- avoid this company!

Had Shannon do some projects for my mother. At first he was very responsive and his work was good quality. The last project was a vent hood replacement and seal front door, replace door sweep, and paint. We paid in full thinking we could trust him after using him several times. We never received the new filter and the door repair was incomplete. No sweep, holes still visible, and the paint looks terrible. I have tried to resolve this issue by contacting Shannon and he says he will come by and take care of it. He never responded after several attempts by me and my sister. My mother is elderly and it's a shame that he would treat someone this way. We paid several hundred dollars for incomplete work! Very unprofessional! Stay away!

I worked remotely with Shannon and Southern Customs during the early part of COVID in 2020. Due to some health issues, I wasn't in the state when they started work on remodeling my bathroom and extending some of the door widths throughout my household. For the better part of four months, I got a run-around from Shannon and his team, consistently saying that the shower fixture was or wasn't in and that it was or wasn't damaged. He ordered and reordered the shower unit upwards of six times—initially going through Lowes and then through a local supplier (Coburns) whom he's buddy-buddy with in the area. Not once did he ever order the correct unit. Eventually, I caved and went with the last unit he ordered so that I could have a shower in my place and bath consistently throughout the week. When I did finally get into Mississippi to oversee his work, my place was a complete disaster. My bathroom vanity had been stolen. The sink was lying on the floor, marring the paint and sheetrock. Parts of my laminate had been cut into to supposedly make room for door width expansions. The old shower unit had been left in the center of my kitchen, and there was a large scratch across my floor where they had dragged it. Not to mention, his contractors, when they finally did show up to work, after weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks of delay from our agreed-upon start dates, frequently worked past 11:30 pm. He was nothing but disrespectful and inconsiderate to my time and own personal obligations as a person. I must admit, I had too much patience with Shannon and his men, but after an attempt to remove the old shower unit, which required the door frame to be removed and reinstalled, I terminated their employment—as they had left the door unlevel with the frame, making it impossible to lock or even shut the front door. Do not work with this man. He is not a registered contractor. He overextends his men and their jobs, he does not pay them on time, and he does far worse to the customer. Have a care and look at the Mississippi State Board of Contractors for your remodeling and construction needs. Please.
