Richard is the best plumber I have ever used. He is extremely professional, fair, competent and polite. He responds quickly to calls and texts and always keeps his appointments. I had 3 other plumbers try and work on a problem that I had w/ no luck, but once I called Richard, he was able to fix the issue that day. His pricing is also more than fair. I would recommend him to anyone in need of a plumber. He is the only plumber I will ever use again.

AWESOME...PROFESSIONAL...PROMPT!  Richard's Rooter and Plumbing is by far the best service I have used for plumbing needs in LA.  Richard came out on the Fourth of July and only charged $59.00 to clear a bad blockage in my main sewer line.  He was very knowledgable and courteous.  I highly, highly recommend him.  Please call Richard and get the job done right.  I am in awe that he came out on a holiday and charged such a fair price.

A Brilliant experience!!  Richard came to the house and literally solved the issue
within minutes of arriving.  He was positive, friendly and since I know nothing about
plumbing--he took me step by step through the process of fixing the situation.  Not to mention, I called at 5 o clock in the evening on a Friday and he showed up an hour later.  If I were you--I would not look anywhere else for a good plumber!  Do yourself a favor and call these guys.  They are honest and better than the rest!!!

He didn't fix my problem. He continued to try and up sell me on more services instead of trying to snake the line to try and clear it. I paid him to snake the line already. He didn't clear it. He wants me to pay him again for a second attempt?   When I questioned the price and up sell he became hostile and threatened to take legal action against me.

I paid him the remainder of what I owed him just to get him to leave my property immediately.  Yelling at a plumber on my front lawn is not my ideal summer morning.

I will not be using him again.  His minimum is 3 times that of any other normal plumbing company.

I should have checked his reviews on yelp.  I would have never called him if I had.  You should do so yourself.  There are multiple Richards Rooter and Plumbing because he is trying to avoid all the negative reviews that are floating out there.

Update:  He called me and threatened to take legal action against me regarding this review.  I also just had another plumber at my house 3 hours later and they were able to unclog the pipe within minutes and charged me a fraction of what Richard did.    ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION

Everything he said in his response below is exaggerated and blown way out of proportion.

In his statement he wrote "He wants me to pay him again for a second attempt?"
This is the only truth he wrote. I charged him $99 for an attempt to clear the sewer. Then I waived the fee. He only paid $600 for main sewer Clean-Out and $250 for a Sewer Video Inspection.

On 7-15-2014 3:08PM  he calls me to tell me his Sewer Line is clogged and there's a flood in the back house. All 3 toilet are backed up. I showed up an hour later at his house in the Hollywood Hills area near Mulholland drive, just to give you an idea.
He sewer line did not have the proper size clean. He had a 2 inch clean out. that was a problem because I can't snake any sewer with the big Main Rooter machine through  a 2 inch clean out. He has a 3 inch drain so the clean out needs to be 3 inch pass Code. I recommended to install a 3 inch Clean-out on the main sewer for $600. He wanted me to try with the small Rooter machine. I told his that not a good idea because the small snake/cable on the smaller machine won't have the same torque and may get stuck.. It's $99.00 just for my attempt. There is no Guarantee that it will work. He said "OK just go ahead and try". I snake the drain and it did not clear and almost got stuck. I wasn't suspired.
Again I recommended to install a 3 inch Clean-out on the main sewer for $600 and I'll wave the initial change of $99. He said go ahead.
The next morning I went back to his house, installed the 3 inch Clean-Out and snaked the main sewer with the big Rooter Machine. The machine I used is a GO 68HD Series made by Gorlitz. Just to give you an idea, this machine is the strongest commercial snake they build.
Even after tiring to clear the sewer with monster of a machine, the sewer still would not clear and again almost got stuck.
I offered him two options.
Option #1
I can do sewer video inspection and location for $250.  which means, I will push the camera attached with a transmitter into the sewer until it won't go any further. Then I will locate the sewer and it's depth. He said "$250? OK..."
Option #2
You can pay me to keep snaking the sewer in a attempt only. I told Option #1 is the best.
I located some Roots in the Sewer.
The clog is 1.5 feet deep, 78 feet down steam near his front door of the front house. He has a lot of Bamboo trees near this clogged sewer.
I told him that the Bamboo tree roots are clogging the sewer..
He said "I don't want to break up the concrete near my front door. So.. Snake it for free and I'll pay you the $250 Sewer Video Inspection Charge."
I said "I can't keep on snaking for free." I already waived the $99 for snaking it the first time.
He said "but you didn't do anything. You didn't fix the sewer"
I said "I never guaranteed, implied or promised that the sewer will clear. I told you and wrote it in the contract that I will Snake the Sewer in An Attempt to clear the Sewer only."
He yelled at me "Get the FxxK off my property.
OK... I quit...I said. he went off on a rant about Honor.
I said "Honor? What about integrity? You won't pay me $250 unless I snake the Sewer over and over for Free? Come on"
As I was leaving he gave me a check for $250.
He is blatantly lying.
His review is NOT factually correct. I was assertive and straight to the point. He is mad at me only because his sewer is still clogged, has been for years and I wasn't able to clear the dense section of Bamboo tree roots. Jack is exaggerate and misrepresenting his experience with me.

I could not have had a more positive experience.  We had a plumbing emergency, which 2 other plumbers could not solve.  We called Richard, and he showed up within an hour and fixed the problem, and ended up charging much less than the other the other 2.   I would also add that while another plumber tried to move me into a much more costly and destructive solution, Richard quickly dismissed that option and came up with a much better way of solving the problem.  Hands down I would go with this plumber.

Great guy, he came on time and started immediately. He fixed the drain and also added a couple extra bonuses to the service for free! will definitely call again for all my plumbing needs!  amazing service!

A very positive experience.  Richard and his partner came out to help me with a clogged shower drain.  They were on-time, quick, and friendly.  Problem solved, and for the initially quoted price.  Simple as that.  Don't bother to call any 'smell good plumbers' or any 'roto' guys.  No nonsense, no up-selling.  What else do you want?

My Sewer line and Kitchen sink drain all backed up all over the first floor. Thankfully Richards Rooter and Plumbing services was and is near and available 24/7/365. The water heater was leaking and the water was draining into a sump pump that broke down. Apparently the Sewer was backed up with tree roots. Richard is the best Plumber and Plumbing Contractor that I have ever meet. He is very knowledgeable about the Sewer and Plumbing code. I would recommend him to everyone.

A thoroughly professional service. We had a main line badly blocked by roots - Richard came on time, unclogged the drain for the quoted amount, suggested how we might analyze the problem and prevent it from re-occurring - quickly, pleasantly, for a reasonable fee.

First-rate all the way!
