  Arrived 20 mins early for appointment in GR location. Not sure who the original appointment was with but the individual with first name initial T greeted us was cold, unfriendly, and not the least interested in having visitors that afternoon. Our consultation ended quickly as it was too painful to endure. It is a small uncomplicated project and so I may instead take the business to Lowes or Home Depot and do the research myself.

  Slightly rude encounter with lady at front door. I did not know they were apt. only when I walked it (which is fine - however the number of customers did not out weigh the number of people working there). I asked her a simple question as to why I’d choose their place over a Lowe’s or Home Depot (didn’t say it- but meant to say why would I take the time to book and schedule an apt. With them when I can just walk in somewhere else) and she laughed at me. Rude. It was not a personal question.

  I am sorry that you are unhappy with your interaction. Yes, we currently work by appointment only. Our appointment policy is clearly posted on our front door and the banner at the top of our website. Appointments allow us to schedule the right amount of time to give our customers the best experience based on their needs. Each customer’s needs are different. We want to make sure we have all of the project information and time allotted so that you receive personalized service without feeling rushed to make decisions by other customers waiting. This is the difference between Richards and the box stores. We operate on the principal that you are the only customer that matters while you are here. The box stores operate on volume and customer turnover. We are a dinner reservation and they are fast food. At the box stores, you have no idea how long you may wait to speak with someone knowledgeable or how distracted they may be with multiple customers looking for someone to assist them. At Richards, we know your time is valuable and we are here for you as long as it takes to make your decisions on your timeline. For over 100 year, Richards has put individual customers first from start of project to finish, including standing behind our products after the sale.
