These guys are expensive. I initially hired Quality Plumbers to install a dishwasher. They first installed it sticking way out so you could see the sides of it, so they moved it in about an inch and then installed it crooked, both times drilling holes into my custom kitchen cabinets. After they left I noticed how crooked it was and still not flush with the cabinets and so I reinstalled it myself and then I had to fill in all the holes that they drilled in with wood putty. They charged $165 to install the dishwasher and I had to haul the old one to the dump myself. Mahlander’s charges $125 and they haul away the old dishwasher. I also had a leaky bathroom faucet and they charged over $800 to fix the problem. They told me parts were about 8 parts $20 each and I stated that I did not want to spend a lot of money on it. Jared the owner said the parts were higher but didn't call me about the higher cost. I asked for a price breakdown on parts and labor when I received to bill and he refused to give that to me. Jared the owner did not seem to care.

I am deeply sorry you feel this way. We strive to try to make every customer feel like they have been taken care of in every possible way. Most appliance stores in town will install a dishwasher at a lesser cost if it was purchased at their store. This was not the case. We did also address a leaky faucet which involved replacing two cartridges. In the process we were told to go ahead and replace the other faucets cartridges, as they were the same age, as well as two tub/shower faucet cartridges. All in all we had over $400.00 in parts to repair leaky faucets. As to my knowledge this took care of the problem. At no time was I or my service tech ever questioned about how much this would cost. Most of the time in the service industry we are just expected to repair the problem. If price is an issue, it is discussed before we start the work or we may be asked to submit a bid. I did receive a phone call after the invoice was sent concerning the price as it was just stated as one lump sum. I apologized for the confusion and a revised invoice with prices broken out to each scope of work was resent to the customer. After the revised invoice was received I talked with the customer again and tried to explain the charges. This was impossible as the customer was too upset to listen to what I had to say. I apologize again for any misunderstanding.
