Plumer Gobber funeral home has been beyond helpful and totally professional in planning both of my parents' services. The new owners have managed to keep costs down as much as possible while they provided excellent support and service for our family.

We can not recommend the use of this establishment. They wanted to charge us $7,245 + $450 for a cardboard casket to facilitate cremation of our mother. Another funeral service in close proximity charged us 40% of that value. I don't begrudge a reasonable profit, but this was taking advantage of people during a very vulnerable time. When I spoke with the owner and told him I thought the cost was unreasonable, he told me, "I guess you know my business better than I do."
Response from the owner
Dear Mr. Moody, we sincerely apologize for any miscommunication. Our Goods and Services Statements itemize our direct cremation costs with and without a container. The price in which you are stating above is inaccurate. There were numerous charges that we waived on behalf of your family. Again, we apologize for any miscommunication. Sincerely, The Staff at Enfield Funeral Home

This establishment wanted to charge between $13k and $15k for very basic services for my grandma. They were very offended when we shopped around. They are not only unpleasant to work with, they are price gouging a small farming community. They should be ashamed for taking advantage of grieving families. We went to a very respectful nearby establishment, Hays Memorial Chapel, they facilitated all the same services, in Norton, were very helpful, pleasant and professional, for one third the price.
Response from the owner
Gretchen, We strive to provide the service in which each individual family needs. If we are unable to fulfill the needs of the family, we encourage you to seek a funeral home who can and will take care of all your needs. To say we are price gouging our community is quite offensive. As a business in our small community we would never price gouge nor take advantage of any of our grieving families. We apologize for your family's "unpleasant" experience with us. Sincerely, The Staff at Enfield Funeral Home.
