  After using another local heating & cooling company for years, we decided to try Piper Heating & Air Conditioning to service our leaky air conditioner. We had received many referrals and were trying to keep business local. Having worked in a customer facing industry the majority of my career, I would say the scheduling and planning of the appointment was mediocre at best. The professionalism of owning and running a business was just not there. Once the technician came out, we were charged over $200 for a recharge as our unit was not pushing cold air. We were told our unit was old and required the old type of coolant. Well, I am not sure what got put in or what I paid for, but the technician left and, even after the recommended wait time, we still didn't have cold air. We ended up eating the money and called out our regular company. They came out, were professional and courteous, charged the unit and within a half hour we had cold air again. We actually ended up getting a whole new AC unit with the other company. I don't know if this was a one off experience, but I definitely will be sticking with my regular, local company from now on.
