I'm surprised at the low ratings for this business. Zivko is the owner and helped me figure out an issue another plumbing company misdiagnosed. Zivko is very knowledgeable and is a good, honest person. His prices are very reasonable especially compared to the other plumbing company that didn't even fix my root issue.

Recently the A/C stopped working in a newly purchased house. After seeing the good reviews for Payless Plumbing, they seemed like a good choice. They ended up being punctual, friendly, informative, and best of all, within the price range that I thought it would cost. Honest about the cause of the problem and realistic about the solution and options. Called early in the day and Zivko returned my call later in the day. Since there was no rush, he scheduled the appointment for 2pm the next day. He was available sooner, so he called and said he could come over earlier than scheduled. Showed up right on time and immediately diagnosed the problem as the unit was low on refrigerant. The unit is only 4 years old, but for any number of reasons has a refrigerant leak. He refilled the unit, explained the price per pound of refrigerant, and explained the complexity and cost of doing a leak test. Deferred doing any leak testing just because of the cost and uncertainty of finding the leak. Would certainly use again.

Our central AC stopped blowing cold air. We noticed the fan on the unit stopped running. My family member is usually one to fix things for us when things break down, but unfortunately, we couldn't go to him because of a family emergency. We went with Payless Plumbing because of the good reviews. Made it on time for appointment and was very responsive with communication. I would prefer to be told the price of repair after checkup to see if I wanted to proceed. Didn't think it would be that much as I watched him install a generic capacitor. I thought maybe that's why he went ahead and did it without telling me the price. I was definitely surprised when my total came to $289 some less than 30 minutes later. This was the price for part, labor and diagnostic. Called around afterwards to check if this is the normal rate. The ones I contacted quoted $150 for parts and labor including diagnostics. I definitely feel overcharged and will try one of the other companies I contacted next time there's a problem. I'm looking for a reliable company I could trust to turn to, and this one is unfortunately not it.
