After receiving several quotes from other places we decided to get one from My Buddy the Plumber, they went through our system like none of the other guys had. They had excellent recommendations about moving our vent to prevent hair build up and expanding the size of both our intakes. Our house is breathing way better than it ever has now. They recommended a quieter furnace and we’re loving it. Korey and Kasey were informative and went above and beyond with the installation and fixing things that our roofers missed, and clearing dog hair out of the intakes. They were pleasant to be around and had no troubles working around the professional cleaners that were working at the same time. Would recommend this company to friends and family. Very satisfied, thanks!

I had mixed results while working with My Buddy. The hvac installer and electrician that came out were very friendly and did solid jobs. The comfort consultant experience was not as positive. I want to post separate reviews for them, but Google limits me to one. This review will list some pros and cons and hopefully help others be more careful and considerate than I was. My ask/needs from My Buddy “Im interested in replacing my old furnace and swamp cooler combo in my small brick bungalow with a mini split system. My goal is to eventually electrify my whole house. Do you have expertise in mini split installation? There may also be electrical upgrades required” They responded promptly and scheduled a consultation to explore a system for my needs and see if it would be a fit. After getting some pretty unimpressive bids from other Hvac companies that tried to push me to a furnace and duct upgrade, I was happy they listened to the mini split part. My overall experience with My Buddy the plumber Pros: - Fast appointment setup and install turnaround - Friendly calls with their admin staff - Friendly installers - Some appearance that they stand behind their work (still tbd) - John Lane (installer) and Dan Jenkins (electrician) Cons (most related to consultant Sean Outzen): - Bidded me a high amount for equipment and just claimed supply chain/industry issues for prices - Initially said I should get a 2 head system, but said it was likely overkill for my small, open house and that I could get away with one head. It is clear the current system will not be enough to hear and cool my house, so they set me up for discomfort - Was unclear about what indoor/outdoor unit he was ordering for me. The invoice I was sent even shows proof. He said I was getting a Daikin MXS series unit (multi-split system), but I received the lowest end product they make in 2 ton series with a pretty large markup. What was installed: RXB24AXVJU+ FTXB24AXVJU single head system. This is available to me as a retail customer for $1495 online… I imagine they got a much better price from the distributor. The price for this + line set and simple plastics platform + install was $7475!!! - Their phone system can be confusing as they have one main phone number, but multiple numbers they call/text from. - Their invoicing can be confusing and mis-leading. It isn’t clear exactly in the breakdown of items/services what you are paying for and where you are getting discounts, If any. - Based on other quotes and internet research, it appears they are over-charging for certain product/services. - I have lots of follow-up work now after a very expensive panel upgrade and hvac installation. Dry-wall and plaster needs to be repaired/replaced, a built-in shelf had to be modified, and the platform my mini split is set on isn’t secured to the ground in anyway. I can slide the outdoor unit around easily with little effort. So I will need to stake it down or rebuild the platform somehow. It’s not clear if there was fine print saying they weren’t responsible for these modifications or not. A lot of this comes down to the comfort consultant not having experience installing and setting the installers up to fail. - They mention non-negotiable standards on installs, but I still don’t know what those are? I am not clear on what codes my new panel meets. - I let them know that after further inspection, some wiring/lighting near my panel that worked before the install no longer works. I still don’t have guidance on what they will do to resolve that. No appointment scheduled or follow-up. No way to contact the specific electrician who did the install. - They seem to overbook their installers. Both of them had to cancel other people’s appointments to finish my installs. My house is old, but the installs were not extraordinary from what I can tell. - They scheduled electrician and hvac installer for same day and set them up to fail - Gave me the runaround when I asked if I’m paying for the 25+ft of extra line set that Sean ordered for the job.

My buddy the plumber heating & air from the beginning to the end of our AC adventure were extremely helpful and reliable. Larry kept us from wasting $700 for a band aid fix on our 18 year old AC unit and instead suggested having Shawn come out and talk about our replacement options. Shawn gave us multiple options and was able to have someone out as soon as two days later. Ryan and Chandler did a amazing job replacing our AC and furnace. Both made sure that everything was done to a T, and that any questions were answered. Id highly recommend this company to anyone and will definitely be using them in the future.
