  I purchased 3 new faucets and asked Mr. Rooter to replace my current bathroom sink faucets with the new ones. My home is only 3 years old so everything is new and in great condition. When the service man arrived he looked at what I had and said they would be no problem at all to do and could be done right then and there. "But let me call my manager to see how much the standard rate will be." He got on the phone outside and came back in and announced that he would happily do the job for $550 per faucet for a total of $1,600. When I explained I just couldn't pay that much he said, "Oh, let me call my manager and see if he can come down any on that for you." After coming back he announced they would "Help me out and come down to $400 per faucet for a total of $1,200." I politely explained that I had expected the total for all 3 faucets to be closer to $100 each for a total of $300-400 for the entire job. He explained that the rate is just standard and they couldn't do any better. He tried to tell me that it would be worth the $1,200 for the time it would save me. Thankfully I know better. I will never recommend them to my friends. I will be sure to tell everyone I know how they tried to overcharge me shamelessly.

  I am sorry you feel that we tried to overcharge you but we have standardize rates for the exact purpose of not overcharging people. The rates are the same for everyone. If our techs have the spare time and are not pushed to get to the next job, we will sometimes discount the rate because they are already at the home. This is relatively a rarity. I appreciate the price that you expected, but we have to price all jobs to at least break-even but hopefully to make a profit. The cost of running a service business is much higher than most expect. We do come out at no charge and give a free estimate from our standardize pricebook so that there is no pressure to accept the job or the price. We understand that our pricing will not fit everyone's needs and this is why we come out and give a free estimate. I'm sorry you felt it necessary to give a 1-star over the price when we did not even do the work.

  I called Mr. Rooter and spoke to a very professional individual and she found a technician, by the name of Dallas W., that was able to come out the same day to repair a shower that had a minor leak. Dallas was very thorough on the options and ultimately had to replace the inner workings of the shower. He found a handle that matched our shower head and was able to get the shower back up and running within an hour. I forgot to test the water temperature and had to call back that evening requesting someone come out to ensure the temperature on the shower as we like it much hotter than most. He was out here the next morning and the fix was made in 5 minutes without any further costs. I will continue to do business with Mr. Rooter especially due to the professionalism exhibited by the call center and Dallas, as well as the speed of their service and costs.

  Mr. Rooter's technician, Dallas, was very customer service oriented, polite and efficient. Dallas completed his work quickly and cleanly, removing an old water heater and installing a new one in a couple of hours with a minimum of disruption. In addition, the young lady we originally spoke with to schedule the repair was polite, efficient and responsive to our emergency request. We highly recommend Mr. Rooter. .
