Two years ago they did a fantastic job on our kitchen remodel (we hired them directly, not through a contractor). Definitely 5 star experience. Now we want to remodel the bath, and so of course I called Monarch. I had checked the recent online reviews out of habit, and was surprised to hear others say they weren't getting called back. Surely I would have a better experience. I called Monday and left my information and was told that an estimator would call me back. The lady even made note that I was a repeat customer. It's now Friday. I just called the company again and talked with a different person, who told me that they are so busy they are only doing work for "their builders." When I told him that it would have been nice to find this out on Monday, I got "Well they are just an answering service, so they don't know." Um... That's EXACTLY the kind of information your answering service SHOULD know. It also doesn't explain why someone at Monarch who DID know (like the guy I talked with today) didn't take the 30 seconds it would have taken to call me back to let me know they couldn't do the job. I would think as a previous customer I would have warranted that much at least. So I can't recommend Monarch to anyone who actually reads these reviews to hire a plumber - they are working with their contractors only.

I am a general contractor and have used Monarch Plumbing for the majority of my plumbing jobs. My business relationship goes back to before they re-organized and became Monarch. I've have always received good quality workmanship with knowledgeable tradesmen performing the work in a timely manner. I read the negative reviews about the answering service, and would have to agree, it was not the best for representation, or communication. I don't feel that that should be what a trade should be judged on. I grade on performance, skill, schedule, professional workmanship and warranty response. These all rank 5 stars.

I am remodeling my kitchen and needed a plumber to come out to give a quote. The general contractor recommended Monarch Plumbing. They came out and gave a bid to the contractor. As things came out I decided not to use the general because his pricing was very high. I did want to use Monarch so I phoned the owner and ask him to call me to discuss his bid. I have waited over a week and no call back from this company. I guess when they found out I was not using his friend then this job was not worth doing. I thought they was in the business to work for customer not just general contractors. I am disappointed they did not even return my call to hire them independent from this contractor. It tells me they are not very dependable and does not care to do business with a person. At least as a professional they could call and let me know. I would recommend people hire them to make sure they check other dependable companies. If they can not communicate with customer that they do not work for individual up front then something is not right. I would not recommend this company not anyone. I will give them one star because they did show up with the general to give him a quote.
