This company is a subcontractor for American Home Shield. A technician came to the house for a major plumbing service. He was dressed unprofessionally, and his disposition was unprofessional, grumpy, and sarcastic. I realized that he didn't have shoe covers over his shoes when he entered the house. His shoes looked awful, like he was walking in mud earlier. I addressed him about the shoe covers. He replied with the attitude that he would let the company know that's what I need in the future. I told him as a customer that is what he needs to have so not to track in from your previous site. For sanitation measures and respect for the client. He also informed me that the company would call me back in 24 hours because they had to go through the insurance company. I did call the company and made a complaint that was supposed to go to the supervisor that day. That was a Thursday. I didn't hear from them over the weekend. It was a holiday on Monday... But still. I called the insurance company on Tuesday because I was never called back on the plumbing issue or the personnel issue. I explained to American Home Shield the situation and timeline. They put me on hold to speak to a Mayes Plumbing manager who relayed a message. Tell me to call THEM back to speak to a manager. I was so upset at this point. I told my insurance company and Mayes plumbing that this was the worst customer service in my 55 years of life. I could not comprehend why this company has not made one phone call back to me to make an appointment for a payable plumbing service or the poor customer service I endured. I found out days later that the issues were not covered through my insurance. But I still needed a plumber, and the job was about $2500 - $3000 and urgent. They knew the urgency and the estimate for repairs and still never called to offer to fix the problem. I was done. The worst customer service is EVER. March 3rd, two weeks later, is when I receive a call from Mayes Plumbing. I did not answer.

Mayes plumbing was referred to me by a family friend. We had a stoppage for the outside drain and we called Mayes Plumbing to come out to service my home. The plumber came out, gave a free estimate but his price was reasonable so we asked for the work to be done.. The stoppage was clear but unfortunately the design of the French drain that we had was slow draining and causing more flooding into our basement. We called Mayes again and they recommended installing a sump pump. Once again the price was reasonable. The technician sent out, installed a sump pump and we haven't had flooding since. Then we had another plumbing issue with a leak from a bathroom. Mayes diagnosed it thoroughly and identified the issues as a leaky roof not a plumbing issue. Why do we love the service we received? 1) free estimate 2) reasonable price 3) excellent communication and very quick to respond 4) very friendly service, knowledgeable technicians 5) prompt service We had called Mayes Plumbing three times and all three occasions have been amazing.

On 3/1/22 I contacted my home warranty company American Home Shield for a leaking pipe. American Home Shield assigned Mayes Plumbing my service request. I was contacted by Mayes Plumbing within a few hours after placing my call with my warranty company. I was given an appointment on 3/3/22 between 10-4. Now I was a little upset (I’ll get to that in a minute) about a 6 hour window appointment time. I was assured by the scheduler that I would receive an automated text when the technician was on his way and that I could track his ETA. I did receive the text and was able to leave work and meet him at my house. When the technician, Ray, arrived, he introduced himself and was very polite. I told him the leak was somewhere under our house in the crawl space, that we could hear the water leaking from inside when we used our master bath. Took him to the bathroom so he could hear the leak. He wore a mask and shoe covering when he entered my home, which was great. He explained that he would need to access the pipes from underneath, since I don't have a basement. I showed him where to access the crawl space. He put coverall on, grabbed his tools and headed under the house. Some time later ( close to 1 ½ hours) he knocked on my door to let me know that the repairs were done. He explained that he replaced a section of pipe due to some pin holes in it, but also that the drain to my shower was leaking and was able repair that leak as well. He wanted me to turn my shower on to make sure it was no longer leaking and crawled back under the house to check his work. He was very knowledgeable, polite and thorough to make sure nothing was leaking anymore. Now to the 6 hour appointment window, and my understanding of why such a large appointment window. The tech had to drive from Crofton to the eastern shore which is about 40 minutes without traffic. He spent about 2 hours from start to finish at my home. I'm sure I was not the only service call that day, so traffic and drive time to his next service appointments gives me a better understanding of why Mayes appointments are a 6 hour window. I am very pleased with Mayes Plumbing, and my service technician Ray and the service they provided in my home. I would definitely have Mayes service my home again. I would also definitely recommend Mayes Plumbing to friends and family. Thank you Mayes Plumbing and Ray for taking care of my home!!
