Mason replaced a leaking storage tank for my water well, working late into the evening to finish the job. He finished the job by insulating the water lines to and from the new tank -- a task neglected by the company that had installed the previous tank. Outstanding, professional work.

I contacted Masons Plumbing about a loss of pressure in my shower on November 9th 2020. They sent out an associate that same day who determined there was debris in the line and suggested flushing the line and replacing the cartridge. Mason called me and gave me a quote of $170. I agreed but made the mistake of not asking for this price on paper. Make sure to get everything in writing and not taking their word on anything. They shut off my water and took the cartridge with them so they could match it. I didn't hear from them all week, and called them on November 17th and was told they ordered the wrong part. The correct one would arrive on the November 24th. I called back on that day and was told Mason would call me. He did and told me the part still wasn't in. I called on December 4th to follow up and was told Mason would call me to get the cartridge installed. I didn't hear from Mason. I called again on December 9th and was told that part had already been installed and that I was called about it. I informed Mason that I was never notified about the arrival of the cartridge and that my shower was exactly as they had left it. He told me it must be a misunderstanding and they would do it that day. They didn't and called me the next day saying they were at my house. I wasn't expecting them so I gave them the code to my garage. Mason called me a little later to collect the payment. I did not receive any kind of receipt. When I got home I went to the shower and saw that the shower handle plate was not on. I looked around for it and could not find it anywhere. It had been left in the tub exactly where they left it over a month ago. My house is being remodeled so I asked my contractor who I reminded daily not to move anything in the shower if he had moved it. He assured me he nor his crew had and after working together for so long I have grown to trust his word. I finally called Mason's Plumbing to ask what happened. I was called by the associate that did the work and was told various conflicting things by him. First he said that he did call me to ask where the plate was. I have checked my phone records and call records and there are no calls from his number. Second he said that he assumed I got rid of it because it served no purpose. Mind you it serves the purpose of keeping water out of your wall. Finally he told me that it was probably the contractor because they had taken a tool he left there over a month ago on the initial call. When Mason called asking for payment he also did not mention it which is weird considering he guarantees quality work and leaving off the plate that protects your wall from water damage and mold is not quality work. In conclusion, I was never contacted about the status of the part they were trying to track down, I always had to call and put pressure on them, they ended up billing me for $265 which is nearly $100 more than the over the phone quote, they provided no receipt, they lied constantly, they didn't show up to do the work when they said they would, and they don't do quality work on top of that. I have included photos of the call logs from my phone to give an idea of what I went through. I would highly suggest going with a different company. I will try to resolve this issue with them before filing a formal complaint with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners because leaving an exposed wall like that without notifying the owner, yet seeking payment means that this company doesn't consider this to be a health hazard due to the mold this would create.
