With all the craziness going on my water heater decided to break on Sunday I called multiple companies but just couldn’t either get someone or The cost quoted was disturbing. Tyler Abate came right out as soon as I picked up my water heater and installed for me. Very nice QUALITY WORK Pet my dog (even tho he is a pitbull without fear) Looks amazing and was completely reasonable I didn’t know about Lake Area but I do now and will definitely recommend them ... thank you so much 😊 if I could add a pic i definitely would ! The price of the water heater was jaw dropping enough HAHAHAHA

I built a house a little over 2 years ago and Lake Area Plumbing was the company used to do the plumbing. Almost 2 months ago I noticed that the ground was soaked near the shut off valve, located at the slab of the house. I dug up the valve and discovered that there was a small, constant leak. My wife called Lake Area Plumbing, informed them that the construction was 2 years old and asked them to come out and look at the leak. At no time did Lake Area Plumbing inform her that they only warranty their work for a year, prior to sending someone. The plumber and his helper arrived at my home on the scheduled day but did not call ahead to inform me that they were on their way. After inspecting the leak, the plumber informed me that the threads on the PVC connector to the brass valve were cracked and that whoever had installed it put it on too tight and that's was caused it to crack. Approximately 2 hours later the PVC connector and pipe was replaced and the leak has since stopped (mind you, I had already dug up the valve so it should not have taken almost 2 hours to replace the pipe and connector). However, I received a bill for around $257 (of which was $2.15 for parts). After calling Lake Area plumbing for over 2 weeks, I finally got an answer from them regarding the bill and was told that the plumber stated that he never told me that the thread was cracked because of overtightening and therefore I must pay the entire bill. At that point is when I was informed of their 1 year warranty ….. Some customer service they have!! FYI ….. I wouldn't even give them any stars but in order to post this review I had to give them at least 1 star.
Response from the owner
Hi Tony, I'm just now realizing we are able to get google reviews. I think it's great because I can now get honest feedback from our valued customers! I truly am sorry that your experience with Lake Area Plumbing was less than satisfactory, but I would like to clarify a few things for other people reading your post. As stated in your post, we completed your home a little over two years ago from the time your wife called. We, like most trades, will honor our workmanship on new construction homes for a one year period. I guess you could say it is almost an industry standard time frame. At no time when your wife called did she mention a warranty, nor did she ask for an hourly rate for a plumber/apprentice. I do not believe this is a sign of bad customer service, but more of a communication mishap between parties. Now I do realize the general public may not know about warranty periods, and we will strive to let our customers know this information in the future before sending a plumber out. As far as trying to get a hold of us for 2 weeks, that is a gross exaggeration. The first time you called our office about your invoice was a Thursday(8/22). The plumber who worked on the job was out Friday and Monday (8/23-26). I got the information I needed from him on Tuesday(8/27), and then was able to call you that morning so we could handle the situation. During that conversation we came to an agreement and a revised invoice was sent to you on Wednesday. Once again I truly am sorry that your experience using Lake Area Plumbing was a frustrating one. I am happy that we were able to speak on the phone and work through the issues you had with us. I hope you not only consider updating this review, but using us again in the future and giving us the opportunity to show you how great our company really is! If you wish to discuss this further please give me a call at 337-478-5811. I would love to hear from you! All the best, Tyler Abate Vice President Lake Area Plumbing
