Jim came out to my home and gave me the best estimate out of four companies I called. He pulled permits then came out and completed the work in a fast and professional manner (even worked after hours). I would recommend J. Needham & Sons to anyone looking to have plumbing work done. They also serviced my sister home outside of Livingston County and didn't charge her an arm and leg for travel time.

We called J. Needham & Sons because we had a leak in our guest bathroom sink. Jim the owner came out took about five minutes, and even though he saw the water on the floor he said he couldn't find a problem. He then charged us a$150 for the visit. My husband said well if you're going to charge us a hundred and fifty at least tighten a few bolts which he did which took five minutes more. He left with his check for $150 and the next day we realized it was still leaking. My husband called the company but ask that they please not send out Jim again. The receptionist informed us that Jim is the owner so there was nothing she could really do about that but that somebody would call us back. No one called us back so the next day I called and I told the receptionist no one called us back and we're still having a problem with a leak and if they're not going to acknowledge us, at least they should give us 50% of our money back because we have to call another plumber. She told me she would give the message to the owner and we have never heard anything back from them. So now after spending $150 and still having a leak we have to call another plumber. This owner is a thief in my opinion and we will never use this company again.

Jim and his son, replaced a hot water tank in 2014, which is still under warrant. Recently, there was some leaking from the fittings on top of the tank, and I called another company to advise. They told me the tank was still under warranty, and to call Needham to replace the fittings. Well, 2 months later with back and forth calls, Jim finally came by after the holiday. He acted as if he was being put out and did not want to be here. He reluctantly looked at the tank, and after some proding, said he believed all that was needed was to replace the fittings, and that the tank was fine. He said he could not do it that day, giving an excuse of a bad knee, and his son who helped him had passed away in 2014. Several more calls were made to him and his office, who never once answered the phone. I left several messages to try and get him to fulfill his obligation, without sucess. My final call to him was 2 months later, with him saying he was going out of town and his knee was still bad. I asked him if this is how he normally treats his customers, and I asked him if there was something going on with his business that he could not fulfill his workmanship? He seemed not to care, and we abruptly ended the phone call after I asked him for a recommendation of someone who may be able to assist me. My belief is that Jim and his business on on its last leg, and it just treading water. I would not waste my time. There are pleany of other reputable plumbers out there to take a chance with a Jim Needham plumbing.
