My experience as a single female using this plumbing company. After detecting mildew on 2 items in my home, I contacted Howard and Sons after their information was shared by my neighbor. Jerrod Howard came to my home 9/3/21. I communicated that I had cleaned the 2 items that had mildew with no further mildew so I attributed the problem to the rainy weather. Upon discussing this same scenario (mildew in the home) with a subsequent service person, I learned the problem was more of an AC proper temp control - not plumbing. Because of a previous cleared block of a pipe, I asked Jerrod to check the crawl space for any potential mold/mildew problem. Jerrod checked & informed me that there were no problems except that the ground was moist & putting a barrier was not recommended. Jerrod also informed me not to run the washer without being home just in case of flooding & told me that problems to the point of my kitchen sink may develop because the guy that cleared my drain before may not have done a good enough job. He also advised that I remove some stored wood from in front of a garage access point that goes directly under the laundry room area so this way it would be easier for him to get to that area. He told me about lines being blocked due to grease being thrown down it and powder laundry soap that can cake the line. Jerrod also mentioned about my replacing the cast iron pipes. I thought these were all odd statement from a guy at my home due to mildew concern. After telling me this he asked if I needed a ticket and I was confused as I didn't know what he was talking about. Apparently this is the term used for receipt for the $85 that he said I had to pay because he went under the crawl space. I'd think this would have been mentioned before he went under the house. I paid him cash and again he asked if I wanted a ticket and I told him yes. I got my receipt and he left. I put in some adhesive type flooring in my laundry room & finished on Wednesday 9/8/21. Subsequently, I put a load of clothing in the washer. Little did I know while I was on the other side of the house, the washing machine in whatever manner flooded my laundry room. I was not feeling well and just put down towels and put 2 fans to try and dry the area. 9/9 I went to the emergency room. On Saturday 9/11, my dog's antics forced me to bathe her. While she was in the kitchen sink started filling up. I heard sounds in my laundry room to discover my utility sink about 1/3 with dark blackish gray water. I abruptly removed my dog from the sink and eventually the water slowly drained. On the same day during the evening, I made contact with a local trusted person I met as I am fairly new to the area and asked for recommendations for a plumber due to the water backing up. On Sunday 9/12 I made arrangement for the plumbing to be checked. I text message Jerrod re: my concerns with the blocked pipes that developed and informed him that since April after my pipes were cleared I've had no problem doing laundry or using the sinks but received no response. Jerrod attempted to call me on Monday 9/13 but I had no trust in him returning to my home. On Wednesday 9/15 nothing could be done to assess the lines due to the crawl space still having wood wood and locating the clean out line being unsuccessful. I was advised about getting a barrier for the crawl space ground. I know ... he had not gone under there but that was the recommendation. Jerrod said it was not needed ... then it was a matter of preference. Probable blocked line solutions were discussed with being advised that replacing with PVC may be the the best solution. I sourced for someone else who could do all aspects of blocked line repairs. I had another plumber (#3) at my home on 9/20/21. Sewer lines remained block despite 7 attempts at clearing with a 100' line. So $150 paid & now I looking at another $400 minimally to correct a problem I never had before Jerrod came to my home. I was informed that to be cautious of anyone up-selling rather than start at gradual lower cost solutions.

I recently moved to a new city and I needed a plumber. A friend shared the number for a plumber, but that plumber recommended Howard & Son. If a plumber recommends another a plumber, you know they must be good at their job. I called in the morning asking for help and he showed up that afternoon same day. He and his resolved the issue and told me what needed to be done to prevent the issue from happening again in the future. He did not pressure me to hire him to do the job, he simply encourage me to hire someone to do the job. On the spot I asked him to work my house into his schedule. As a new homeowner, it was a relief and pleasure to work with someone who was patient with me. Now I can recommend him to others.
