  Short version: The express rooter technician was trying to sell me services I did not need. Angel Bermudez from Express Rooters came out to perform a sewer lateral inspection that was required by city for building an ADU. He informed me the pipe was old clay and was too dirty to inspect (despite camera view looking quite clean that we both watched together at the time of inspection). He recommended an $800 hydrojet cleaning of the pipe in addition to the $300 inspection that would be required after that. I had another plumber come out for a second opinion and they told me the pipe was brand new ABS in great condition, we would have no problem getting it approved by the city. They submitted video to city and it was approved, for $200. This experience is why many people don't trust tradesmen! Angel was either lying to us about our clay pipe or he has no idea what he's talking about. But he was very convincing that we'd need all the (EXPENSIVE!!!) services he was recommending. Such a shame they probably take advantage of a LOT of people that are unwilling to look more into their sewer issues and just trust these guys... Makes me feel sad for society.

  Friendly and professional. Our shower drain had been backing up since moving into our new house. We also had an issue where the bolts that hold when of our toilets were rusted out and the toilet would move quite freely. The shower was unclogged quite quickly. We've been trying for months to unclog it ourselves. Should have called sooner. The toilet was worse than expected once they pulled it off but Burt - the owner of the company found a way to fix the issue without costing us a lot of money by using spacers - saving us a couple hundred dollars or more. Highly recommend. Nice, efficient, quick and professional!

  Excellent, friendly, and fast service. We had a major problem with a shower drain and we were having a party the next day. They came over in the late afternoon and took care of the problem immediately. I will definitely be contacting them for any of my future plumbing needs.
