Terrible experience with this company! Six months ago two of their workmen came out and installed a pressure switch for $140. They also diagnosed the need for a "bladder tank" and wanted to charge $595 for the part and service, which I couldn't afford. (When one of the workmen came down to the basement to check for the pump fuse, he saw violins down there and had the nerve to ask me for one, which I gave him.) When the bladder tank really became an issue, the company owner couldn't have cared less about my situation or the fact that I'd had no water for five days -- despite the fact that I told him I had 18 rescued animals and desperately needed water for them and myself. (BTW, an individual who works on his own, came out and installed a bladder tank for $250, which has worked fine.) Day before yesterday, the pressure switch Dixie Well put in went out -- after only 6 months. When I called this morning to ask if the switch had any warranty and if it could go out that soon, the owner said it had no warranty because "everything is made in China now," and it wasn't uncommon for new switches to go bad quickly. The secretary said I'd have to do without water until Thursday before they could get out and that it would be at least another $140. When I asked about the possibility of it needing a new pump, she gave me a ballpark figure of $2,000 to $3,000 per the company owner. (The work takes only about an hour because I've seen it done.) When I mentioned that Home Depot had pumps for a couple hundred dollars, she said her company puts in better quality products. (I guess they use American-made well pumps but China-made pressure switches.) The gentleman who installed the bladder tank for $250 will come out today and put in a pressure switch for $150. (He also said if I needed a pump, it would $1,150 -- not $2,000 to $3,000 to replace.) Don't let polite secretaries and owners of companies who have no compassion fool you! One thing about the South: There's a lot of false Christianity here, and most of those "God bless you's" are a joke. I would never recommend this company; my impression is that, bottom line, it's all about the money.
