  PORCH ROOF HAS LEAKED BEFORE 1 YEAR. WAS NOT INSTALLED ACCORDING TO ENGINEERING REGULATIONS. I contacted the Product Manager of USA Metals and this is his reply to me after seeing the photos of the porch roof that Oral Henderson installed. USA METALS product manager emailed me-" From the looks of these photos, there will be more involved to adding pitch than cutting down the posts. The lower cover (probably both covers) will have to be dis-assembled. The reason is the lower cover is attached to the fascia board over blank wall (the wall w/no door or window) & the only way to get to the fasteners is to remove the insulated panels. That’s why Mr. Henderson is not anxious to repair the problem. However, if flashing & caulking are added @ the roofline that may solve the problem. If not , a rubber roof may be the best answer. I’ll give him a call & discuss." USA Metals product manager email me and this is his reply concerning contacting Oral Henderson. " I spoke w/Mr. Henderson & he seems to be of the opinion that he’s done all that he can do or should be obligated to do for the roof. When I mentioned that the roof appeared to be too flat/too level he says he was limited by the door height. I responded that the outer side needs to be dropped; not the door side. I’m not sure he & I communicated the best, since to me the flatness of the roof would be the source of the problem & he didn’t seem to be in agreement. I suggested wider Flashing & additional Caulk & he was of the opinion that METALS USA was going to do that. If the product were defective , and it sounds & looks like it is not, there’s nothing that we can do. I suggested Rubber roofing over the cover , but again, he’s not anxious to provide. So I don’t think that I may made any headway w/him You may continue w/him if you think you can make any progress. You may wish to contact a roofer about rubber roofing, get his price & then see if Mr. Henderson will split the cost w/you." I paid Oral Henderson to install my porch roof and I know he installed it wrong. Metals USA product manager knows that my roof was not installed according to code. This is an email I received from him. " Be sure to make a request from City Awning/Oral Henderson for engineering for your cover. It should be dated 2007 or just prior to 2007, if that’s when your cover was installed. It will include details on correct slope, installation etc. Hopefully he has a copy from back then ; but he may not. Also – Forward to him the following info from our Product Manager on solution for your problem:" I need my porch roof fixed because of health reasons. I can not have this porch built in to a room with a roof leaking. Oral Henderson did not install my roof according to code and does not stand behind his work. USA Metals product manager is a witness to Oral Hendersons dishonest reputation.
