  We recently received our newest water bill which was a little higher than usual. I decided I wanted to compare it to the meter to make sure it was right and see if there was a discrepancy. I called (Baltimore City) and after they gave me a hard time about trying to understand my meter I decided to call Caton’s. They came out and confirmed that there is indeed a meter in my house (the city told me there wasn’t a meter IN my home as I was standing there staring at it) , but confirmed it’s not in commission and that’s why the numbers/reading don’t match what is on my bill. Frank, the technician who was sent to our home, then proceeded through the motions of figuring out if we had an underground leak, etc. He was extremely kind and very helpful, gave great advice but ensured that we didn’t have a larger issue at hand. I’ll definitely be keeping Caton’s # on hand as our go to for future issues (although I hope we have none). Also shout out to Maddy(sp?) for keeping me updated on the arrival, she was very kind and easy to communicate with. The original woman who answered my first call (I forget her name) was also extremely knowledge and knew exactly what I was asking and needed.

  Our appointment was scheduled the next day at our house in Baltimore between 10am-2pm on 9/14/21. Customer service told me the estimate was free. Great start with customer service. The tech didn’t arrive until 3:10pm. He proceeded to immediately tell us he’s supposed to be off at 3pm and that he’s charging to identify the leak even though we already did. On top of that, he demanded that we put our 9lb dog away (in my own house). We paid him, but not using them again obviously. If this company wants a bad rep, they’re doing a great job by employing a joke of a tech.

  I’ve used Catons Plumbing and Drain for many plumbing issues over the years. I bought a house that was flipped and naturally it has come with serious issues. Bruce Jordon was my plumber this time for a plumbing leak and a new water heater. The plumbing leak came as no shock because the pipes were put on wrong and covered up. The leak could have been happening for years and finally it caused enough damage on my wall for me to notice . Bruce did an amazing job fixing the flippers mistakes, making sure everything was up to code, and more importantly making sure I understand what the issue was. He also did an amazing job cutting the drywall. I’ve had plumbers in the past that just knock a big hole to get to the leak and he cut a perfect rectangle. The water heater he came back to replace and that too was no easy task. He had to unhook my HVAC piping and squeeze through a tiny entrance to get to the 30+ yr old water heater. I’m very impressed with his work. I would recommend Catons. They tend to be on the higher end of price, but you are getting good quality and great customer service.
