Because of the negative experiences I've personally had with many other HVAC companies in Hobbs I decided to try Caprock despite the negative reviews here on Google. Right now, I'm super glad I did. I have two AC units on my house, one for the main part of the house and another that was haphazardly installed on an addition. The one with the addition has always had a problem where it will work really well until it gets really hot outside. Lately we have seen 100+F pretty regularly so the addition has had a lot of trouble. So, naturally, the one in my main house decided to go out as well. The unit was frozen up but the air filter was clean and getting to the condenser coil is very difficult because it is an old Lennox unit that the coil is directly above the furnace. They couldn't schedule me in the day I called, but they came the next day at the time they said they would. The main house had low refrigerant and the starter cap had blown up. We had low refrigerant last year and when I told the tech that, he proceeded to try to find a leak. A leak was found at the filling valve and no other leaks were detected. After getting the main house going, he checked on the addition and found the relay wasn't operating correctly which stopped the compressor from turning on. He said he didn't have the right relay because it was an older unit but he would order one and install it as soon as it came in. It was five days before it came in but when it did, I was contacted by Caprock without me having to call them and they scheduled a time the next day to finish the job. I wasn't charged until the job was finished and the total was just above $300 for everything. This was less than I paid for just refrigerant filling last year. Three weeks later, they are both still working well and my house is a pleasant temperature even in the hottest parts of the day. Overall, I had a good experience with the company and I will use them again.

Caprock is horrible. They put in a 3TON unit and the ducting they put was too small and not enough for even the normal airflow. So we were unable to cool certain rooms in the house while others were too cold. From the second year the unit was put in we had to call them out two or three times a year to fix issues that shouldn't occur until the unit was 10 years old. Finally, after arguing with them time and time again when the compressor died we called in real experts. Multiple companies told us the same things, not enough ducting and too small. Overworked compressor. The unit leaked freon et cetera. When they were asked about this the owner didn't want to listen and cussed us out. Then I called back and talked to the office manager and was given a spiel about how they worked with us and didn't charge us for some stuff and I was even told that is normal and that the copper loses freon because it's porous, And that is true, for a couple of ounces maybe, but not several pounds a year! Doesn't matter if it's their fault or not, they charge for every visit and the owner is a verified jerk. Now that we have a new unit we will never work with Caprock again. So with the advent of the Internet, these reviews can make a large difference when people are picking companies. This is one company I wouldn't pick, especially if I own a home. The crappy work they do might be fine on Oil Field locations where they are dealing with companies that have a lot of money and don't really care how much they spend to fix crappy equipment and incompetent installations, but if your money is important to you, avoid this company.

Caprock Air Conditioning and Heating in Hobbs, NM is the very best place for your a/c needs!!! They were so amazing to us and helped us fast. Terry ( boss and owner) went out of his way to accommodate us. And the price was great too. I highly recommend them!
