Our main sewer line clogged and they responded right away on a Sunday and quickly fixed the problem. I'm very thankful for their help.

Thank you Spencer for job well done..fixed the pipes under my sink that I have had to fix at least four times over the years. His work ethic is very valuable!! Does his job the right way the first time rather than doing it quickly just to get it done. He sees the whole picture and does what needs to be done. Very thorough and very professional!! Finishes his job with cleaning up too..Very impressed!! Beth

Overall a good experience, but here are the pros and cons regarding my service appointment. PROS: very professional and quickly diagnosed the issue with the hot water in about 15 minutes. The issue with my hot water heater was the Honeywell thermostat attached to the front of the heater failed; it needed to be replaced. They also provided a military discount on the labor which of course is always appreciated, but not expected. CONS: Honeywell thermostats for AO Smith water heaters can be purchased locally and checking prices seem to run about $125-$150; but their supplier apparently charged $235. The other thought was $300 for labor, meaning driving to get the thermostat was a labor cost. In the end, the heater was fixed in about 35 minutes. Ask questions upfront about the labor costs, I was confused when we discussed labor if it included sealing a small leak from the vent leading to the roof. I though that labor was part of the $500 upfront quote, so I opted to just replace the thermostat, but apparently I was mistaken on that part.

Thank you for your positive PROS review Michael. I just spoke with the technician who repaired your A.O. Smith water heater regarding your "cons" comments. Regarding the need to drive to our supplier, A.O. Smith water heater control valves are made specifically for each model (in fact our technician called A.O. Smith to obtain the correct part number for your particular model) so it would be impossible to carry the multitude of valves, thermostats etc along with every other plumbing and gas part on our trucks - they would be the size of a small warehouse. There is a small upcharge to the part which cost us more than what you stated as it is an authentic A.O. Smith part - not Home Depot which does NOT carry authentic A.O. Smith parts. The technician also told you upfront the cost would be around $500 and gave you the option to replace your approximately 8 year old water heater but you chose to make the repair. Anyway, I'm really glad we could provide you with the service you requested late yesterday afternoon so you wouldn't go all night and into the morning without hot water. Thanks for calling Bayfront Plumbing Inc. and thank you again for your military service - we hope you appreciate the military discount we gave you since you failed to mention that in your review which reduced your costs.
