  All other reviews are accurate...this is a HORRIBLE company! I was put in touch through the home warranty company and will not be using Area Plumbing again under any circumstances. The owner billed the warranty company $120 for an estimate on top of the $60 service charge I paid him at the time of the visit. Then billed the warranty company for another visit that he did not make. These charges were then taken out of the maximum amount the warranty company would cover for the issue and nothing had been fixed. He also completely mis-diagnosed the problem, which cost me hundreds more dollars, and lied to the warranty company that everything was fixed so he could collect more money. Tell everyone you know to NEVER use this company!

  I've had Area Plumbing (sent by Old Republic Home Warrenty Service) come out several times for different needs. I find Johnny Leach to be an experienced plumber with a forthright manner. He will tell you the facts and work with you to resolve the problem. This week he came to check out a drippy shower head which proved to be a valve problem for a 30 plus year old, discontinued system. For now, this was more than I wanted to deal with due to the fact it was behind a tile wall. He made some adjustments that definitely helped the situation until we could think it through, find a tile contractor, etc. Then the next day he called and said he wanted to come over with another part that he had come up with that would still allow us to use the shower and give us even more time to formulate a plan. There was no charge for this second service call, and that is the second time that Johnny has gone beyond what was required.

  All of the other reviews are correct - worst customer service ever! We had a sewer backup at our house and placed a service call with our home warranty company AHS. Originally the call was assigned to Area Plumbing Co., but when we failed to receive an immediate callback we contacted AHS and the service call was reassigned. The next morning we received a call from Johnny of Area Plumbing Co. We explained that the service call had been reassigned to another company and apologized for the mix up. He was very arrogant and stated "They won't show up. They never do." The other company came out and told us that they were not able to assist us as they did not have the proper equipment. We again contacted AHS telling them the equipment that would be needed and they, unfortunately, reassigned the service call back to Area Plumbing. Johnny called again and was even more arrogant, stating that we should have listened to him and let him do the work in the first place, as he was the plumbing expert in Granbury. We asked if he had the equipment that the other company said was needed and he assured us he did. When he arrived, he bad mouthed the other company and again told us we should have used him first. After several attempts at trying to undo the blockage, and shooting a plastic pipe out of one of the pipes spewing even more sewage onto the floor, he sat down on our couch, in his sewage-soiled clothes, and stated that he wasn't able to fix the problem because he didn't have the right scope either, and we would need to "call a real plumber." He then contacted the warranty company and told them he couldn't fix the problem because we had no cleanout valve, even though he never attempted to locate either of the two cleanout valves in the front yard. He then left without bothering to clean up the mess he had made. He was rude, arrogant and completely unprofessional. Avoid this company if at all possible.
