Bruce and his receptionist were exceptional. I got a quote for $335 and they were booked up for a week or so, and so I called Utah Leak (competitor) for a second quote, and was disappointed to learn that although the web site indicated Park City (local to me), they were in Sandy and would charge a flat-fee of $1,500, which I found to be untenable. They also went on to say that other companies don’t use gas to detect leaks, which is why they justify the higher price. It was untrue. Bruce of American Leak came to my house on time, spent a few minutes listening to our issues and how we’d attempted to isolate the problem, then went about a methodical, organized approach to detecting 2 separate leaks. One was a toilet flapper but the other took about an hour to isolate, as it was a buried pipe in our irrigation system. He used argon/hydrogen gas and a meter to sniff out the leak and isolated it to a small patch of pipe, which will be very inexpensive to repair. Overall, the value was terrific, and I learned a lot. I highly recommend Bruce and American Leak Detection. For $335, we saved a leak of 12 gallons every hour!

Waylon and Colton did a wonderful job for me. They are very professional, courteous and were very expedient in finding the leak in my outside water line. I highly recommend this company to anyone in search of leak detection services. I will definitely use this company again should the need arise.

Do yourself a favor and call someone else unless you want to be held financially accountable for their technician's mistakes. They came to detect a leak and marked an area to which we proceeded to dig, and dig, and dig...8 feet later there wasn't even any line in site. Came back and marked another area to which "they think the leak is in" but wasn't even in the same vicinity–clear across the yard. After paying them and thousands of dollars in machine rentals, they couldn't find any way to take accountability for their mistakes. Such a waste of time and money.

Hi Sandra, I'm sorry to hear that you had a negative experience with our company. As I am sure you remember, the size of the leak was very small, leaking only 0.03 gallons per minute. Because the waterline was plastic, it was not traceable. Without knowing exactly how the water line ran, we did mislocate the leak on your property and when we were notified that the leak was mislocated, we came back out to your property the same day and spent 3.5 more hours correcting our mistake at no additional charge. Since the job was completed and the leak was found, we did charge you for the original service. Again, we are sorry for any inconvenience or confusion and wish you nothing but the best.
