Have a home warranty company and called to file a claim for no hot water in both bathrooms and also a leaky faucet. Owner came out and said : We needed a new water valve destructor. Our water pressure if it good. Also needed a new stem in a faucet. I thought that was for the hot water. I am not a plumber so I didn’t know. So I called today to ask why still no hot water and the lady said that I would need to file a new claim. Well that’s another 75 on top of the 250 we paid for the valve box which did nothing. Pressure still drops after water is turned on. You can hear it. I explained I should not have to pay for another claim she said well I have already closed this one out. I will never recommend this company. I have already made complaints to the warranty company, currently working in BBB and will do Facebook, Yelp and other places. Please do not use these people!

      Response from the owner

I received a phone call from Ms. Duck today in regards to the hot water issue. When we originally went to the residence on 10/20/21 we discovered a pressure regulator that would not stay set at a proper PSI and addressed the two lavatory faucets that were not getting any hot water. I submitted a diagnosis to the warranty company for both items and was approved for replacing the stems in the lavatory faucets only. The warranty company approved the stem replacements but advised me that the pressure regulator was not a covered item thru her policy. Ms. Duck tried to argue that issue with them but they only approved the stem replacements and at that time is when I quoted the price for the pressure regulator at $250.00. Ms. Duck was NOT happy that the policy didn't cover the regulator. We returned after a couple of failed attempts at setting an appointment for the work to be performed on 11/12/21 which we completed at that time and Ms. Duck paid us for the pressure regulator portion of the repairs. We set the pressure regulator at 75PSI when we left. Ms. Duck called back after that wanting to know if there were different faucets she could buy that would give her better pressure with no mention of a hot water issue nor a drop in water pressure. Today (10/29/21) she called again with the complaint of it taking a long time to get hot water to her bathrooms that are at the opposite end of her home from the water heater. We discussed that in the colder weather that it takes longer for the water that had been sitting in the pipes and was cold to be displaced with the hot water and would take more time for it to reach the bathrooms. At that time she started complaining that the original work order stated that she lacked hot water all over her house which it did not. I told her she needed to turn in another work order to the warranty company for us to come back. She said she was not going to pay another $75 deductable and said she would just find someone else to take care of it and hung. Never gave me an opportunity to tell her it is up to her warranty company to decide if they required a second deductable to be paid. I was only following the normal procedures to get her taken care of thru her warranty policy.

      * THIS is not against 2-10 Home Buyers, It is reguarding the contractor Steel Plumbing out of Tyler.......It would NOT let me do ZERO stars, If I could give a negative I would. Very unprofessional people!!! The guy that came and repaired my pool timer (not the owner) was great and did a great job. However, , he wasn't able to take a payment over the phone and I was at work and he said I could pay with the office...So I called to make the payment over the phone they do not take payments over the phone. So I had to mail a check, within 6 business days she had call several times leaving nasty messages that I lied and didn't mail the check and I was a liar and yelling at me, and threatening me!! Would NEVER EVER recommend this company to any one!! Advice for the company get with the times and take credit card payments If you want your money faster!!!!!

      Response from the owner

The owner of the company Allen Steele is the one that installed the timer. He would never tell her to call the office to pay with a debit card because he knows we don't do that. I tried to make her understand that if she didn't pay the service fee her warranty company would shut down her policy. She told me that they had never shut her policy down before when she didn't pay the service fee. Exactly what happened yesterday after she went out of her way to file another claim for a recall on the timer. Allen Steele Plumbing did nothing wrong.

Home warranty company contacted Allen Steele Plumbing to replace a pool pump. It took over a month to get the pump in and replaced. The new pump would not hold prime and it was thought that a crack had formed during cold weather on suction side of pool plumbing. I contacted a trusted pool service company and they came out and immediately said the fittings were not the correct ones for the new pump. So Allen Steele Plumbing just swapped the pump and did not use the supplied fittings and actually plumb the pump correctly. I contacted Allen Steel Plumbing and was berated on the phone and told that is not how it works and the warranty company should have been contacted to have Allen Steele called back out. Why would I want them to come back if they could not do a simple job right the first time. While speaking with the lady from Allen Steele she got angry and actually hung up on me. Extremely not professional company and would not recommend them to anyone.
