UNI built us a beautiful custom deck and we couldn't be happier with their work! They started the job on time and the only delay was due to a couple of minor supply chain issues which they were quick to finish once they had materials. They designed bench seating around the perimeter based on what we had asked them for and they got very creative since what we were asking for wasn't the usual bench seating that most have. Every step of the way they came out and showed us drawings for approval and made sure we were happy with certain ideas they had along the way. We told them in the beginning that we were going to have a hot tub installed so they made sure to run extra support boards underneath the hot tub area. I think the deck would safely hold 10 hot tubs with the extra support they built! Their construction crew was very professional and courteous. They cleaned up at the end of every day and never left any trash around. They were also very nice guys that we enjoyed saying hi to each morning. They even helped the hot tub company install the tub when it showed up! I would HIGHLY recommend this company to build anything!

I had heard nothing but good things about UNI so when it came time to hire a company for my remodel, I made sure to contact them. I was impressed with them from the first day I walked in. Carol did the design and was incredibly patient with all the changes we wanted to make and it turned out beautifully. Isaac coordinated the entire project and made sure that everything moved along well and quickly took care of any issues that came up and was very communicative. Matt was the contractor and I couldn't have asked for a better one. He was incredibly detail oriented, thorough and very respectful of our space. He and his team cleaned up every day and made sure to give us a useable space when they weren't here working. Thanks so much for giving us our DREAM kitchen!

Initially we had a great experience, but later realized that it was clear that once the contract was signed we we're no longer a priority to them. I had to contact them multiple times to come back and fix both a piece of siding and a window. To this day, the window still rattles. After the third time they came out to fix the rattling window, and I lost my patience with the matter, the workers from UNI laughed in my face and still didn't fix it. It was very hard to find the owner's contact information, but once I did he asked to come out to the house to discuss what had happened and see about actually fixing the window and siding. He made it clear that he wasn't too concerned about the way his employees laughed when I got upset, but was able to somewhat fix the window. Unfortunately, I still hear the scratching noise from their window install when the wind blows. He told me anything else I heard was just the "dingle of the dangle" and there was nothing he could do. He suggested that my fiance go out on the roof and see if he could figure it out, which was interesting considering we paid them to install it. I was extra disappointed considering this window wasn't even damaged in the hail storm and we only replaced it to make sure it totally matched the window in the neighboring room. He did also personally fix the siding piece that his team still hadn't properly fixed. Seems like a well-intentioned owner, but his team is sloppy and doesn't seem to care, which has to be a lot of extra work for him to chase after... so I guess at some point, he just tells customers that's as good as it gets. We won't be using them again and don't recommend them.

      Response from the owner

Jordan, I am sad that you are still unhappy. The last time we spoke I made sure our crew came back to make additional adjustments and touch ups. You appreciated my personal attention and I thought accepted my apology for the frailty our workers exposed to you and the general inconvenience you felt. I know we do not wish to offend customers intentionally. I did apologize for that lack of concern. Regarding the window wind noise anomaly, we installed that window originally with best practices, and frustratingly could not offer a reason for the wind causing the noise. Your fiancée then, as a trades person, also understood the predicament regarding the wind whistling around the outside of the window that created this noise anomaly. I do remember my “angle of the dangle” comment and made the offer to replace the window and try again. Together we decided not to. I can only apologize again and say I am sorry and sad this bears on your heart still so strongly. When we parted, you were appreciative with my attention, apologies and thanked me. Please call me at the office and Tammy will set a time so we can revisit all again. Thank you. Mark Hout, Owner
